If you guys have not watched this series on the History Channel, the final episode has a great piece on Henry Ford. Awesome series, great history lesson......

I saw it last weekend. I did not know that Ford had to prevail against the consortium (A.L.A.M) that claimed the entire automobile was their protected patent.

Most of the show was on J.P. Morgan, Carnegie and Rockefeller. Those three amassed fortunes that make those of today's look like nothing. Though I question their (documentary's writers) method of valuing their dollars to today's dollars. They seem to use a factor of about 1000 when computing the big three's net worths.

I watched all the episodes. I think they should change the name to "the greed that built America".

Not untrue.

One big difference was the greed built physical product; Steel and all that came with it. Oil & Electricity and the infrastructure to deliver it.

Now days, it is mostly paper and software code. Harder to touch and feel that. Carnegie and Rockefeller ended up giving most away.

I've really enjoyed the series. Learned more in 8 hours then I ever did an entire college semester. My wife really got a lot out of it too. Worth the time.
