Lucas Fuel Treatment Upper Cylinder Lubricant & Injection Cleaner - Anyone use it?

Does anyone use any fuel system cleaner in their GT? I always run 93 through it. Have a twin turbo set up.

In my other cars, I run Lucas Fuel Treatment Upper Cylinder Lubricant & Injection Cleaner in every other fill-up.

I have no idea if it helps at all, but do it anyway.

Thanks for your input.

Depends on where you get your fuel. Those with already higher detergent concentrations such as Shell, Conoco, Phillips 66, it's probably overkill to add anything else. I often have to settle for less than 'top tier' gas in my area and will usually add a bottle of Techron or equivalent every 3500 miles or so.

I agree with the Techron. I have used it in all my cars for years. Had cars with over 150,000 miles and never had problems with fuel injectors etc. Recently my daughters BMW sat for a few months and when started was missing badly. Poured the techron in and within 50 miles problem resolved. Though it may have been condensation or h2o, I never had any fuel system problems.

Chip posted a good write up on fuel additives. As I recall, he said, and others agreed, that Techron was the best additive package out there. I use it in conjunction with the marine Stabil and have never had a fuel related problem with 20+ engines, even though some aren't run for 6 plus months.

Is Marine Stabil better for cars than the regular type can buy at Autozone or Napa?

I think so. I believe it has some additional additive which helps counteract or lessen the corrosive effects of ethanol. I can get it at my local Autozone. Given your location, I would think you should be able to get it there too. It is more expensive, but based on the cars you have, I think you can swing it. :lol

I have heard that you should time the use of a fuel system treatment to just before an oil change in order to keep contamination to a minimum.

If you need Stabil in your GT, you are not driving it enough...
