Are you one of the lucky folks approved by Ford to purchase an all-new GT? Better bring a big briefcase to your local dealership-Ford demands a 50-percent down payment when you finalize your order.

Moment of truth, anyone looking to hand over his allocation to me to me to save Ford from giving it to some unknown celebrity instead ?

Just kidding, know it is not possible :wink

No. But the new Ferrari (only 10 to be built for Japan) has 680.

Ice,

In addition, there are no rebates, no "friends and family program", and no 1.9% special financing. Write the check, sign the title work, and motor straight to the nearest auto show or cars & coffee. As the hour draws near I still have trouble believing that it's going to happen. Merry Christmas!

At this point, I have to think all of the hard numbers will come either at NAIAS or Daytona in January.

Was anyone under the impression they wouldn't have to pay for the car? Pretty sure 3-4 months between deposit and production won't make a difference anyone in the market for $450-500k car.

There are a lot of bespoke options. If you're going to spec a car, and they lock in the materials to build it, you have to pony up. Deposit on 918 Spyder was $200,000 non-refundable at allocation (i.e, the day you received your allocation letter), balance when car was produced. Porsche would not even release the car to ship unless balance was paid in full, and it could have been over a year since the initial deposit was placed.

Several quotes come to mind. The last time I looked there was still some money in the little green box ( Roger Smith GM ). Is you in or is you out ( Kingfish on 50's TV ). This will separate the men from the boys ( US Army ).

Well, Yellen did just tighten...

That said, if FMC ends up with any no-shows, hopefully they still have my application!

The base price has been out there for a while , It's an expensive car. .. You got to step up with the money at some point. This should not be a surprise to anyone who applied,, no issues or concerns with the deposit process.. I would like to know the specs but it's really not going to change my desire to get one,, Raj is not going to let us down on performance.. .. .:biggrin

Everyone has known the price for over a year. No surprise here. Everyone knows there will be a deposit. No news here. I would pay 100% now if needed to get this car. What are we talking about?

I don't recall the application process asking for an audited balance sheet or income statement. I wouldn't be surprised if a few of those fortunate enough to get an allocation don't easily have the means to cough up 250K. If that is the case how soon will the allocation be reassigned to those with the dough?

It wouldn't be the first time a person's enthusiasm for product exceeded their means to pay for it.
