Priceless.........

Part of me just has to believe that, somehow, Team Mustang is involved in making that video. :thumbsup

John Lund has already installed a tune on a friend's boosted boss. Who knew the nazis were Ford guys and they still lost the war?

Not nice comments toward the GT500 crowd. I'm glad Hitler didn't go after the GT crowd.

Sperchen sie deustch?

Very funny stuff, however the caption does not even come close to what anyone is really saying.

Das ist alles.

Why would it have to??

This parable came from a Mustang Forum participant and it has gained traction around the internet (and at Ford) because it connotes the utter frustration Boss owners have over the Trackkey rollout delay that CARB certification has imposed on Ford Racing. The video IMO is very clever and clearly presents the madness and frustration with CARB interference.

Indy Bill....I wondered when you were going to weigh in. I thought of baiting you with a remark when the post was first made, but thought it best to let you have your say when and how you felt it was appropriate. The list of how the government gets into our business grows exponentially with time. I wish there was a direct way to stop it with a vote of citizens who "pay" for it all.

Jack, I am, as you know, following the introduction of this software with interest. Have not been on this Forum for a while as working (and to be fair, playing) schedule has kept me from home base. I was with a Ford person in the know this past weekend and the Boss team is frustrated as well.
Hope it gets resolved sometime soon, but I am not holding my breath.
The video end reference to Jon Lund is priceless (and terribly funny).

I'm trying to convince a local tuner to create a tune for MyKey. This would be a cousin to the trackkey, but would work in all 5.0 Coyotes. It took about 3 hours to explain that all 11 up Gts have two tunes available. Maybe if the smog check or annual inspection of the car would involve the non trackkey.

Get a life CARB. I'm so glad I live in TX. I think Hitler has a point sell it in the 49 other states.

Silverbullitt-

Keep me posted on any progress your local tuner might come up with. (How about it Torrie??) Maybe Jon Lund is now more than a video punchline.

I am growing more disenchanted with the Trackkey option as the introduction delay from Ford Racing goes from weeks to months to maybe years...

At this point I may not even spend the $302 for the key if it EVER is finally released. And the alternate software may be so "watered down" due to CARB bashing the guys at Ford to make it "green", it is not even desireable or makes any difference.

I agree with you, at this point after spending months and months of effort with CARB, Ford should actively consider the release of this option in non-CARB states and let Boss owners in these "chosen" states express their displeasure to THEIR state government.

Of coarse it should not have too, would not really work otherwise. I was raised in a German household and could not help hearing very clearly what was being said at the same time reading the caption, kinda a double edged sword. I agree it was clever in its use for this. To bad we could not unleash some of the fury like this on Sacramento, I for one would level the place given my choice and not just regarding this issue but many.

Thanks Steph! I agree with you too and luckily do not live in a CARB sanctioned state.

Now that the Nov 1 release of Track Key has been promised by Ford Racing, they have also rolled out the "small" caveat that the original 5/60 Mustang warranty is reduced to the remaining time of a 3/36 if you load Track Key into your Boss. A little more gasoline on an existing bonfire...

Not a well executed program to say the least.

Isn't one who orders the T.K. pretty much declaring he intends to put the car thru its paces (it's going to see track time)? Assuming that's so, does it make any sense for the factory to warranty the car at all? Given that, and the fact that cars like the Viper and the ZL1 Camaro only have 3/36s, a 3/36 on a T.K equipped Boss seems very reasonable to me. Prudent in fact. Just call me a 'pushover'!

I'll call you "pushover" Empty and do not want to recreate all the rants in other forums. See below.

Anger from owners is basically how the TK was marketed to perspective Boss owners months before the software was ever released.
Let's please not get into this on Dave's Forum.

There is more than enough elsewhere...

'Had no intention of "getting into" anything, sir...much less starting a war here or anywhere else...especially over something like this! 'Just stated my 'take' on the 3/36.

What about 'them' Rangers????????????! :willy

Indy - As follows on the same thread -- an update/clarification today from FCSD re: Warranty

http://forums.themustangsource.com/...email-all-ford-lincoln-dealers-501292/index6/

So, great news about the TracKey coming out!! Now, to clarify on the warranty questions… This will be like any other FRPP aftermarket part that you add to your vehicle with one exeption; the repairs will be covered longer than 12/12. The 5 yr/60K mile Powertrain warranty will stay in effect. If the the TracKey programming causes any concern, that specific repair will be covered for 3yrs or 36,000 miles. This is great coverage for an aftermarket part on your vehicle. If you have any ESP, the same rules will apply.

Let me also mention the fuel changes: You’ll be using 91 octane fuel or higher to avoid any engine damage. Please note: damage caused by low octane fuel will not be covered under the Ford Racing limited warranty.

So if I read it correctly, only the Ford Racing part 'itself' e.g. the software, is under the 3/36, not related driveline and engine - as long as you are using +91 octane.
