Just had a few questions since the car is in another state.

How is the rear visibility. Driver is 5'11" and sits up straight. Specifically parking and changing lanes freeway and local. Is it dangerous for a semi daily driver, I mean in daily driving circumstances not canyons or a track.

Also, its ok to laugh at this one. How is the "trunk" space? It seems obvious no suit case is going to fit, but correct my if anyone has got creative, but what about garment bags laid flat?

Just want to know if any owners have found ways to get things to fit, like whats the clearance between the hood (bonnet) and the chassis when you close the lid? What have you all been able to fit, wife of driver might want to take some clothes on a short weekend road trip.

Rear visibility: takes creativity to a new level. See the thread about the $80 rear view camera setup. You'll have to remember when backing up that the rear defuser will hit "bump stops" before the TIRES will. Wouldn't recommend "parallel parking" EVER. The wheels WILL get scraped up doing that, as they will pbly NOT be where you think they'll be. (For that matter, neither will the outer edges of the fenders...)

Changing lanes: tap on the accelerator, THEN signal, THEN change lanes. That way you'll put distance between you and the guy you had no idea was shadowing you off your rear qtr before he can do squat to prevent it.

Luggage: ...UPS...Fed Ex is/are your friends! One 'Forum member actually tows a small trailer for that purpose. Many use garment bags and the like tucked in clever places. Suction cups for hangers stuck on the glass behind the seats has worked for some.

I totally agree! Foward and side visability are ok. There are some blind spots. Rear is ok at a distance. Parking is a challenge! I always say that you can fit a lunchbox in the trunk, but it better be grilled cheese because it gets HOT!
With that said, you will LOVE it! ENJOY!!

How is the rear visibility.

not good. but you get used to it pretty quickly. especially if you drive it a lot. i don't have any problems anymore, even backing up. contrary to what empty pockets says, i find the width of the car easy to estimate. rearwards you can see the hips (well, that's ALL you can see :) ) and the front fender line is so abrupt it's easy to guage that as well.

parallel parking is a damned if you do damned if you don't thing. you are guaranteed a good spot as far as door opening access goes, but you better be pretty comfortable with the car first.

Also, its ok to laugh at this one. How is the "trunk" space?

nonexistent.

I sell these cars on a regular basis. I think you called and talked to one of my employees today. I will be honest with you and tell you, there is NO storage space. You MAY be able to get a very small duffel bag under the front bonnet. Thats it! Rear visibility is Poor. Other than those two things, I absolutly love my personal car. Its not good for a daily driver as far as storage space. There is no console or glove box of any kind, no where to set your phone, etc. BUT, personally, I dont require much stuff on my person, so I dont have a problem with the storage space. Everything else on the car, Driving it, Performance, comfort, maintenance cost, etc the car is #1. You will have a very hard time finding a better exotic for the $$$. Best wishes with your purhase. If you can get around the storage issue, I think you will be very happy with your purchase.

As far as rear visability, when I got my GT about a year or so ago, having never driven one, my first drive was a bit horrifying!

But like Mousecatcher said, and others, you really do get use to it.

Now, as a daily driver, with the distractions that go with that, that would be a concern. But the way I use my GT, I'm quite use to it by now, am very careful, and seem to do just fine with it.

I hope you buy it. It's an incredible car!

Thanks you just reminded me to take my car to Autozone to find the best fitting convex mirrrors to put on my outside rear views. I almost wrecked my car going into the left lane when an econobox occupied my blind spot.

Don't let this scare you. I'm coming up on my 2nd anniversary in March. No significant boo boos yet. The biggest problem is other drivers. They want to stay in your blind spot or next to you to check out the car. If you are in a hurry don't stop for gas. You will get several folks at each stop asking questions. The most common is what is it? Even though there are stripes on the side and the Ford logo on the front.

We need to clue you in on something. Empty Pockets owns a 1:1 model of a GT. It is on display in his garage or maybe basement. No one on the forum has seen his car on the street.

Bony, nice avatar... mmm.

Well we bought it. I went to a contact I have house and looksed at his. The room in the trunk and behind the passenger seat is enough. It will work. Not going to fedex a package to the weekend house 30 miles away haha. It will get there after we leave.

Bought one. Black, no stripe no painted caliper, has BBS wheels and the stereo. Looks hot. 160K. scored.

Thanks for your input all and the camera idea.
