So, I'll start with a story. Both my boys are heavily into martial arts and related activities (amongst the boyscouting, tennis, swimming, club soccer, baseball, etc.)
But they really love martial arts and play fighting. So, my little kindergardener wanted so much to be Ang, from the Last Airbender, for Halloween (no worries, I had no idea what it was until they got into it). But basically, he is a martial artist, and trying to save the world. His staff is one of his primary weapons. My little guy was so excited to wear the costume and even won a costume contest with it, which made him really happy.

And I remember being a kid, and how much you can absolutely love something to no end (uhhh, kind of like all of us with our Ford GT's...)
So you can imagine how much it absolutely touched my heart, when my wife said that last night he was thinking about a present for me, and early this morning he excitedly wrapped it, and gave it to me.
I honestly thought it was a poster or something, but was really blessed to see how happy he was to give me HIS very own cherished magical forged plastic Airbender Staff.
It was really sweet and made me proud to be a father. (or maybe he's just trying to get me to shave my head into an arrow shape)
Thanks for all your heartfelt wishes on this special day. I was actually thinking I might be a little bummed about getting old, but to start the day off with this gift and to drop by the forum and see all your wishes, I would be an absolute idiot to not know how lucky I am.

Thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! The family surprised me and took me out to Benihana last night for dinner. My older son made me an iPhone 5 out of paper, complete with multiple screens and applications, and also a cool wallet made out of duct tape (from the Boy's Life magazine instructions). All in all a great day.
Today I went and looked at a 1978 Ferrari 308, as friend has been begging me to look at a nice example. But it simply didn't do anything for me, so I saved a bunch of money. Hard to beat a Ford GT for a two door sports car. I thought to myself, "why would I ever drive the Ferrari?" when I have a Ford GT?
