GT pulling to the left...

So, I have a GT that I recently bought, and am still getting used to driving it, but there is one really annoying thing. If I hit the accelerator (not stomp it), just press it down and then immediately lift off, the car very distinctly pulls left. I've had the alignment done, but it's still very apparent. Has anyone heard of this? Motor mounts? Tie-irons?

Thanks,

->Jeff

I know this is the most basic of basics...but, are all tires inflated properly?

Maybe a caliper isn't releasing fully? (Possibly a small piece of gravel wedged between a pad & rotor?) Something goofy like that?

If it only goes left under application of throttle, and doesn't return to center when you lift off the gas, the Right Rear suspension ball joint may be broken.

You need to get your car to a really good four wheel electronic alignment center, for diagnosis only. Which are few and far between.

Have them run their system with the car in static mode.

Then go to each wheel and have the tech move each wheel by pulling on the tire in forward back motion and then by pulling on the top of the tires trying to pull it outward. This is best done by giving the wheel/tire a bear hug.

All done with the 4 sensors live. with someone watching the computer screen.

The alignment computer will go a quite a bit crazy if it is a ball joint is indeed broken.

Get it to the GT Guys promptly.

Keep us posted on what's found out about your GT.

I would tend to agree with PL510*Jeff. An old Ferrari Mondial of mine used to pull the right under the same circumstances with the same culprit ball joint, though I couldn't discern any wiggle when physically tugging on the wheel myself.
