Hi Jamie -you definitely did that!

To the P-car guy - because I might be "e-kicked in the nuts" on this forum for some comments I might make, I took the liberty of posting your comment on the C-car forum. I think we will definitely see some interesting conversation.

I don't want to cause any "strife" over here, so I will try to limit and control my remarks. See you over there.

I'm gonna say this once: talking about other cars is fine. Anyone that's purposely starts cross-board wars that gets my time wasted by having to ban legions of defenders of the Corvette faith coming over here for no other reason then to argue gets banned. Fair warning. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but the reason this board is largely much better than most car boards is because we largely avoid bickering.

Not trying to argue with you or start a war DBK. I think Jamie's post livened things up, which can be a good thing. My intent was to start a lively discussion on the other forum, partly because I feel like you won't let me speak freely over here. I will tell those guys over there to try to avoid coming over here, and contain their discussion over there (because you and I both know that this promises some very lively discussion!).

Don't get me wrong man, I don't think you were trying to start a war, but you know as well as I do where this type of thing leads. And I think a forum meant for grown men can live without it. Go to f-chat, l-power, the Viper forums; they are infested by people who have no intention of owning those cars talking about Corvettes, and subsequently people bitching about them. If by "lively" you mean "pointless bickering", I concur.

The Corvette is a bad fast car, period.

Enough said! We don't need bickering on this thread, go to others for that. TGH

Bravo ! let's all keep it together. Recently I found myself getting engaged in a posting mess related to other cars I later asked myself how come I lost my cool... apologies

The GT was designed as a track car (road racer) not a drag car. .... My point is: Set up the GT for the real track (road course) it was designed for and it will give the Porsche GT3 Supercup hell, and as for the Z06, it is incapable of getting to that level. In the real world the GT is in a different class by far than the ZO6.

To get this back on track (no pun intended), I am interested in having Mr. Judson please make some suggestions on a good track setup for a GT that will also be driven on the street. Based on your experience, kind sir, how can we modify the car to make best use of it's power, braking and mid-engine attributes? :confused

Finding settings for GT that work well in the street and track is like finding a women that works well in the kitchen and bedroom.

Luckily enough, my woman is a former model and has those skills you mentioned; and she also loves football and racing. But your response is not the answer I am looking for. Maybe someone can post some useful remarks pertinent to the question.

To get everyone on the same page regarding the P-car post; the comparsion between the GT3S and the GT and the Z06 is not valid. As some buds pointed out to me, a GT3S is a factory prepared race car - it is not the street GT3. Comparing it to a Z06 (or even the GT) is not valid. Maybe we should compare the GT3S to a C6R.... and we would even allow the C6R to keep the bogus weight and intake restrictions added this year (if you follow ALMS). Back to the original post by Jamie - this thread was about 1/4 mile times, and I think most here respect his skills and his input. Everyone here knows that both the GT and the Z06 are not just about the 1/4 mile. And everyone here knows both cars are ultra high performance street cars that also do very well on a road course for street cars. For either car to do serious track time at the limit will requre some money and work (the usual suspects; brakes, tires, suspension).

What I was really trying to say is it is hard to believe you can buy a car for any price with a warranty that is knocking on the 10's door in the quarter mile and sounds and handles and runs like that Z06! I guess with the GT I expect it because it is such an awesome piece, but the Z06 to be honest with you I didn't think it could perform on a level with the GT but it suprised me.
Nowadays all the manufacturers halo cars are impressive, but I think sometimes if its not something you own people don't want to believe it can be as good or as fast as what they currently own because they don't have one. The first thing alot of people say about the GT is the price and what you can buy for that money like a Z06 and a Viper both for the price of a GT and have some money left over. Well that is true but for me they still wouldn't be a GT, and for me I really like the Z06 and the Viper a lot but as long as I have enough money the GT is the car for me if I have to pick one. The body lines on the GT have always mesmerized me since I was a kid and still do!

We actually are fortunate to own all 3 had the GM & Viper engineers testing all 3 at the track. I think its great the GT a road race car hangs dead even with the Z06 drag racing but my 1964 T-Bolt totally stock beats all of them.

My Z and ViP are great cars. The GT is truley a machine in a class all by itself.
Viper Fast clunky and heavy, Z06 Fast & boring, not as much room as a caddilac but close. GT shifter clicks with precision rock solid and fun to drive. Nobody remembers the other cars I have (except the blown 700" 69 cougar is hard to forget) but they all ask me about the GT. Hmmmm

The corvette is a great daily driver and runs great as well.
