EP, as in George? My first thought as well. It is easily controlled, turned on and off as you wish and visible to whom you wish.

I think from a car perspective it might be useful to keep track of folks on a group drive or identify where fellow GTers are at a rally, ect.

Azz-zactly. But, that said, "the man" knows exactly where we are all the time anyway if we're packin' a cell phone! (Or, I should say, "he" CAN know...)

Between this kinda stuff and all the cameras located everywhere it's a darn wonder we even HAVE 'fugitives' anymore!:lol

I've worked with the Dept of Defense and various agencies my entire life. I can say this with absolute confidence; Google tracks and saves more information on users than the NSA. I use a Google engine only when absolutely necessary and at the risk of sounding paranoid (which I am not), Google is the most intense big brother that have ever existed. Things that are benign usually are not, especially when it comes to technology... The DoD will not allow Google products when there are secure networks in daily ops...

For a browser I use Mozilla and for a search engine I use www.Ixquick.com

Enough said....

Google recently opened a new facility here in South Carolina. A large facility on hundreds of acres, just north of Charleston - it's pretty much off limits and VERY secure. It's an interesting co-incidence that it's not that far from the Naval Weapons Station in Goose Creek - a very high tech facility on the cutting edge of DoD technology. (Orwellian music please....) :
