You'll be about three hours drive time from Roma. That's a must see city... just watch your walet and anything else that can be taken from your person by the gypsies. The Ferrari/Lambo factories are about six hours away by car. If you're so inclinded it might be worth seeing those sites. I did both last summer and really liked it.

Have a great trip!

We enjoyed Tuscany, it was more beautiful than we had ever imagined. Firenza (Florence) and Venice are also very much worth the hassle.

The highlight for me was San Agata (sp?) where the Lambos are built. I was having a car (Gallardo) built at the time and got a private tour. Really cool to see the Lambos being tested on the public roads. Maranello, outside of Modena was also a must see if you have even an ounce of Ferrari in your veins.

Have fun and don't drive in the fast lane unless you are going, well, fast. The Italians don't suffer fools in the fast lane.

As I am sure you are aware, the dollar is quite weak right now against the Euro. Unless you are on expenses, prepare to open your wallet in big way. Oh well, you only live once:thumbsup

here's one suggestion when it comes to driving...keep the driver's side window down at all times...why?...so that you can cuss back at the other drivers and don't be timid about showing the middle finger...we are pretty rude when it comes to driving, especially in the big cities like Milan and Rome. Also...in Italy we don't drive, we 'race'..so every time you step into your car think of it as you're going to qualify for a Formula One race, okay? Don't be scared. Also we never leave tips for anyone. Gas stations are full service and most of them are in the most awkward and most dangerous places...like on sidewalks. Food is divine. You could spend a week in Rome alone.

If your heading out to see Ferrari, I hear that Pagani's factory isn't too far from Ferrari's place in Modena. From what I have read in magazines, you can call up Pagani, and ask for a small tour, and they usually open it up for you. That would be my highlight, seeing where the Zonda is made!!!

Also, there is another company, B Engineering. They are the makers of the Edonis, the car that was originally a Bugatti EB110. They bought all the parts, spare chassises, everything that were left, and make their incredible car. I read about it in EVO magazine!! WHAT A CAR!!! Supposedly they are also in Modena. :thumbsup

Two rare cars that would be worth seeing if your in Modena. Enjoy your trip, and take LOTS of pics!!
