Wow. I wonder how much more power on pump you could get out of that beast. More power with lower boost if I had to guess. I might have one in my future if it makes more power!

I've been wrestling with the common "twin turbo vs blower upgrade" dilemma. This might tip me towards the blower option. Can't wait for some data on a GT.

I have been wanting to put nitrous on my GT forever but I keep finding more ways to make more power via supercharging. Started with a pulley and tune on my stock supercharger with a X-pipe. Then I put a 3.4L Whipple on with a Accufab twin blade throttle body. Now I got a 4.0L Whipple with a mono blade throttle body from Accufab and Borla headers and no cats with a Borla race muffler. I also have dual JMS boost-a-pumps. Next month i am putting in K&N air filters and drilling holes in my stock airbox to double my cfm of airflow. I also wil be putting in size 47 fuel injectors. Now we are gonna soon have a 4.5L Whipple!!! Who needs twin turbo's when you got all of this....

Freddy are you using the same FRPP injectors that are used in the GT500?

Just remember, guys, that somewhere up the ladder of 'bigness' you WILL hit a point of diminishing returns beyond which things really go downhill fast (parasitic h.p. loss, etc.)

i bought the 47's from Torrie per his recommendation for my application. they are still in transit to me so i am not sure what he sent me but i know that they give me enough fuel to support a built motor or a 4.5L whipple or a dry shot of nitrous :biggrin

with a 4.5L Whipple one would most certainly want a double keywayed crank.

Does the engine have to be built to double key, or can you double key the crank without a rebuild?

I think, to do it right and have confidence, the crank should be pulled and broached or machined alone, along with the damper....

I will stay with my little 766 rwhp then! And if I need more power will do twin turbos with stock long block.

I'd think you could just use the bigger blower to drop intake temps, and therefor allow less timing at, say 17-19 psi to break 800 rwhp without having intake temps way up there. I'm wishing now I went with the 4.0 and just ran 19 psi... i'm at 21 psi, 740ish rwhp...
