Gas Tank issue

Took the car for 90 mile spin today. Went out to a friend's hunt club, shot a few pheasants. On the drive home, stopped to get gas in the GT. Filled 'er up and started driving. About two miles into the drive, I noticed the gas gauge was only @ 1/2 full, even though the tank took almost 14 gallons. Over the next 8 miles (I zero'd the trip odometer when I filled up), when the trip odo hit 10.2 miles, the gauge had crept up to 100 full.
This has never happened before. Any idea why it took so long to show as full?

Normal..You can just shut the car off and restart it and it will read normal...or just wait. Generally happens when filling from near empty.

Same happens in my F350. I was told poor fuel quality at the dealer.
