Debating to go with the Ford Racing pulley and tune. I know this mod adds more overall power but does it noticeably increase light and mid throttle response?

Improves everything in my opinion.

I completely agree with this.

You will know that it's been installed!!!!

No downsides to this mod!

Don't forget the Ford tune keeps the 205 mph limit. Get a more aggressive and adjustable tune. (do a search on this)

If you don't plan to run the FR tune for 50 state compliance, why buy it at all. Just get an aftermarket pulley and tune from Torrie.

I recently had CoolTech install the pulley and Ford tune. Boost comes on earlier, therefore response is crisper at low RPM. Definitely feel the power up top too. If htere was only one thing I could do that would be it. I know there are other tunes but for some reason wanted to stay with Ford.

No regrets.

Also, the Ford kit contains spacers for the power steering pump to get the correct belt tension with the smaller pulley and the correct supercharger oil. If I were doing the work myself I think the power steering spacers would be the hard part (you do have to remove the supercharger). No access and really requires a lift. The software has to be registered to your VIN and they throw in the OBD device to reprogram the ECU. In theory, with this, you can go back to the original tune. The tune update was buggy so I was glad to have CoolTech do it. Took a few tries. So, you have to provide the VIN when you order. The upgrade is on an SD card (think camera).

I agree that there isn't a ton of benefit to the FRPP version vs aftermarket.

There is definitely better performance all over the place with a good P/T setup. A factory Ford GT is fast, but it does not feel particularly fast. A car with a P/T fixes that easily, no matter how you're driving.

Get a tune done from Torrie at Fast parts network

While your'e at it and since you will be needing a tune, maybe throw on a new exhaust - X pipe or something. Give that new found power a voice. (unless you're already there)

It woke the car up for me, I had become comfortable with the stock power. Kit is complete minus the sc gasket and relatively easy to install, probably the easiest diy 100 hp gain available. I did not need a lift but did have to take the sc snout to a hyd press to r&r the pulley. One consequence; you will have to replace the rear tires more frequently. Oh, my stock clutch didn't last long afterwards, but the gent who put the first 1200 miles on it mentioned starting in 3rd so that may not be a worry for you.

If you never plan to go above 205, it's an excellent Ford tune.

What is the cost of the Ford pulley installation, done right of course?

If I"m not mistaken it's about $2,000.00 all in...Not where I can check my receipts.

Who knows for certain??

I can help with my own Pulley / custom tune its $ 999 and you get full custom tuning not a boxed program with 0 adjust-ability. On average this nets 620WHP.

Go with Torrie, better price, better product and service too!

Thanks Clinton I try.

I got the setup from Rich and Denis at the GT guys. Pulley/tune and new throttle body on the stock blower. 16PSI I think. It's a kick in the a**. Dyno'd at 650RWHP and close to that in TQ. The only downside is the boost gauge is biased to 0 being 16. But who can look at it anyway.

Don't do it without a fresh set of tires though. Preferably Bridgestones.
