The development of the Ford GT1 is now complete!
Matech Competition are pleased to announce that the development of our updated Matech Ford GT1 car is now complete, and manufacture is in progress, in good time for the start of a new season in 2010.
Martin Bartek, Team Principal and Owner of Matech Competition: "I am delighted with the improved car. Each and every area of the car has seen improvements from both a performance and reliability perspective. We have successfully tested each individual area of the car, and now we look forward to testing the whole package over the next few weeks. I am incredibly proud of my team, who has worked tirelessly over the past few months to get everything in place to ensure we are competitive right from the start.”
The new cars are now in their build stage, following enhancements to powertrain, suspension and aerodynamics. The Matech Ford GT1 will be officially unveiled in February 2010 as part of our preparations for the full season in the new GT1 World Championship.
Matech Competition is a highly professional Swiss racing team and we are in discussion with a number of Swiss young and talented drivers, amongst other candidates, for the coming GT1 World Championship season. We are also in negotiations with Swiss Corporations aiming at an overall Swiss entry into the GT1 World Championship.
Another exciting prospect for us are the recently held meetings with the Automobile Club de l’Ouest about a possible application to race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010. More updates will follow as we progress on our journey for GT1 racing in next year.
In the meantime, we invite you to join our momentum towards 2010 and beyond with our new Matech Ford GT1 car by watching our short clip at: www.matech-competition.ch/momentum
