Ford GT v. Gallardo Spyder

Saw a yellow Gallardo Sypder at dinner last night at the somewhat famed Cafe Habana in Soho-NYC last night.

The Owner and I chatted a bit, and when I was leaving had the chance to check it out. He noted he sees Lambos all the time, but has never seen a GT close up.

My unofficail take is the interior is a bit cramped (almost like an Audi TT) in shoulder, arm and footwells; however they did a nice job with the stitched leather and the dash/guages definitely have that ultra modern cockpit look with almost infared type red-back lighting for all the dash buttons-text and cool blue outline of guages.

The starter windup is more whining and sputtering. The exhaust note is quite high pitched, and definitely has a rattling timber to it.

The GT interior by comparison is airy and feels about 25% bigger; with more of a racecar feel....and the starter rush/explosion....well you know.

My unofficial post dinner sunday review!

Nicely put. I kind of wondered why we have a separate starter button, when we don't have one of those systems that lets you start the car with the key in your pocket. Seemed like just an extra step.

But, oh yes, is that extra step special. Having done the Heffner tune and pulley, a big smile comes to my face when I push that button...

I wouldn't have it any other way now...

Am I just being too nit picky (Note to self: NEVER ask that question on a Forum thread, dummy! You will always regret having asked it), or does anyone else get the feeling you're sitting in an Audi parts bin when you're seated behind the wheel? :shrug

('Not talking about DRIVING the car ...just sitting in it looking at this and that.)

Now you know why the starter button is in the shape of a big O.:cheers

Starter Button

I asked a Ford guy why the starter button in the GT was not illuminated.

The answer is that the John Deere tractor it comes from wasn't lit either.

More GT trivia.
