Ford GT Run w/Vipers in Austin

A couple of central Texas GT owners invited a few Viper guys along for a lap around Lake Travis in Austin over the weekend. I snapped a few pictures and have this as my wallpaper and wanted to share. Thanks to Chris for setting it up and inviting us along; I'd LOVE to go on some more exclusive drives in the future!

Note: The parking is totally unintentional; we just happened to stop for gas in Lago Vista and this is how we ended up. That said, I'm sorry the Viper is in the middle (and not one of the FIVE GTs!!!) but this was a candid moment at the station that best captured all of our cars.

It was great driving with you too, Fred! I thawed out after about 3 hours, but I tell you what...if we're ever going to drive those roads again I'm going to need a bra. I saw the chips in my hood and fascia in the dark, and it's not pretty. I'm afraid to take the car out in the sunlight to see the extent of the damage.

Any time you want to go out and drive, give me a little warning (12 hours-ish) and email me at jasontiff@hotmail.com. I'm way up in Cedar Park, but I'm sure we can find somewhere to meet!

Well, in the original there was a bunch of traffic and buildings behind us...not to mention a firetruck that stopped for a minute or 7. I thought they were distracting, so I Photoshopped most of the extraneous stuff out.

That, and everyone in Lago Vista owns a GT.

I sense a south of the river and north of the river thing forming. DOH!!

For those who don't understand show up for the next drive.

I have several routes available from the Hill Country Drives group. We will go again soon.

What? It wasn't nice meeting me? You don't want to hang out with me?

I got a few more pics, but most of them were at the gas station. I'll post them on here later tonight or tomorrow. The best one of them by far is the one I made into a wallpaper, but if you want some for nostalgias sake I'll be sure and add the link to this thread!

How did everyone else's fascias do? I just got an email from Viper Joe and he said his is pretty chewed up. I've only seen my hood/fascia in my dimly-lit garage and it's not pretty; I'm almost scared to take it out into the sunlight!

I know Cody had the 3M bra and Fred had the soft bra...anyone else face the wrath of rocks?

That said, maybe next time a.) I won't follow so closely (especially when we pass!) and b.) we can pick a slightly less rural route, but something equally fun? The beginning of the drive wasn't too bad, but at the end I could HEAR the rocks hitting my car, which is quite a feat with the top off and the sidepipes right by my ear!

Here are the other photos I took, all at their maximum resolution. Most were taken at the gas station; a few were at River City Grille.

Following to close to a FGT is dangerous. The ground affects are so that anything and everything is sucked under the car even from the side and exits through the rear diffuser which literally throws the garbage at you.

How do I know this - the rally in Detroit where Tiger 6's FCar was chewed up and the watching FB GT40 on the drive home. At one time Gordon ran over a pile of sand and it appeared that he was sanblasting at me!:lol

My next investment was - the Speed Lingerie Bra! :cheers

My friends also know this well when following me. One with a Lotus has a small scar on top of his head where the FGT spat at him!
