The original BBC Top Gear is now running the old shows. Last evening was the first showing of the Ford GT test. There are several repeat viewings coming up over the next couple weeks.

If you aren't satisfied with the grainy YouTube copies, try to catch the show on BBC America.

Which episode number or date? I've been watching the older ones but missed this one last night. Even giving up on the news between 5 - 7 for Top Gear reruns :)

Dont know why Jeremy "loves" the car...but takes multiple opportunities to give it a smackdown. The engine is identical to that from a Ford Lightning pickup and that the car gets 4 mpg and its range is about 75 miles. British humor I guess. Apart from that they did a good report on the car.

I saw the episode last night and thought it showed the GT as the supercar it is. Poking fun at the mileage and way the doors open was pointless but I guess that is just TV.
Never having my car on a track I was interested in what kind of mileage do you get. If the cost of gas is relevant to the experience I think someone has the wrong car !

They also have a show where they take the GT and two other cars on a drive through France. I haven't seen it on TV yet but did watch it on YouTube. The interesting thing was at a hotel in Paris(?) when they were exiting the parking lot all of the cars had to have a ramp to get down the curb, and all of them scraped the front splitter/cowling. The GT just barely fit through the narrow exit. I was surprised they didn't remove the mirrors.

I can't believe it but my wife actually likes the show. It is enough about cars for me and the shenanigans are goofy enough to be entertaining as well. I don't completely understand how making cars into boats improves our knowledge of automobiles, but they manage to stick enough useful info to be interesting.

My wife likes the show too. She also likes OCC. I think its the drama factor and all the banter.

4-5 mpg on the track is in line with what I saw. 21 mpg on highway..
