Well the time has finally come. After almost of year of development time we are ready to release our Ford GT cold air induction kit. Previous post from 427Aggie http://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/s...-up-for-a-cold-Air-Kit&highlight=cold+air+kit We are in the process of kicking off manufacturing and looking to see how many are interested in our kit. This kit pictured is the last prototype before the production run begins. We will be manufacturing them in black polyester as to give it the OE look or it can be painted body or custom color. The assembly is set this up to be a completely bolt on and reversible. All of the mounting points are from existing rivnuts or holes in the chassis and can be installed by anyone. Seeing how this allows more air into the engine it will require a custom tune that will need to be purchased or acquired separately. From the testing we have done on a stock supercharger, 2.7" pulley, Accufab monoblade car this kit picked up 35rwhp and on a 3.4L Whipple car it picked up 45rwhp. This is due to the kit being set up to handle up to 1000HP with the K&N air filters and the size of the tubing we chose. Now the limiting factor for additional power will be after the throttle body. We are planning on offering the kit ready to bolt on for $3995 with a possible upgrade to carbon fiber for an additional $600. Please email me if you would like to be put on our list richbrooks@thegtguy.com

- do you have the dyno sheet? I'm curious as to how much power it makes under the curve...

Rich,

That looks GREAT. How about one that will work with the TT cars.

Does that include the monoblade, or will stock throttlebody work as well? Who's got the tune? Are the filters protected from water (i.e. rain or washing) from below and behind? thanks Frank

Run 2 is the baseline Heffner tune with his pulley, Ford Racing cat delete pipes, and Accufab dual blade Tbody
Run 13 is same mods as above with our Cold Air Kit and our tune
Run 15 is our Cold Air Kit and Accufab monoblade Tbody and our tune

As we have learned with with no cats we lose about 1lb of boost and we gan that back with our CAK. This is why the boost psi #'s are a little lower than they should be. Proving what we have been saying since developement days that these cars like some backpressure. The CAK and monoblade Tbody has also lowered IAT temps some by reducing the amount of restriction in the system.

On the next graph
Run 6 is a 3.4l Gen 1, 19psi pulley, Ford Racing rear exhaust headers, and Accufab dual blade Tbody
Run 14 is the same mods as above only adding our CAK and tune.

We didn't include the Tbody as so many guys have various Tbodies already. We have tunes for some of the setups and are working on the rest. We feel the filters are protected from the elements as I have been stuck in a rain storm on one of my personal trips and I checked the area where there filters were and it was still dry. As far as washing just don't spray the filters directly. In the stock air box if water enters the box there are a few small holes in the lowest corners of the box to allow the water to run out.

Rich,

Possible.

I love the final design. And it means its reversible and won't scratch things. I LIKE IT.....

I love the looks and function. Can it be installed in an otherwise stock car? What about with the FRPP pulley/tune?

It will not fit with a stock muffler or a Ford Racing/Borla muffler. Off the shelf K&N's. Big enough to handle up to 1000HP. I suppose they could be.

Thanks

Thanks. If one wanted to put it on a completly stock you would have to change the muffler and tune. It would work with the FRPP pulley but not the tune.

Yes, you can here it now.

Hey Rich and Denis, I know you ask if you could use my car for the installation photo shoot and it looks great especially on a RED car. Does this mean it will be on my car when I pick it up Saturday? HAHA. Not fair to show me what it looks like and then not leave it on. It is a high quality installation/fabrication and true performance upgrade as the DYNO shows. P.S. did you clean the inside of the fenders before you put the old air box back in?

Cold Air Kit update

We are now into batch #2 of builds of our cold air kit. Here are a few pics and dyno #’s from some of the first batch.
GTG cold air kit, Gen 2 Whipple, Accufab monoblade throttlebody, new injectors, Ford Racing catalysts, GTG muffler, 85ºF, 715rwhp, 642ft/lbs, 20lbs boost on a conservative 93 octane tune with redline set at 6900rpm and was still making power until redline. This one is “during the build”.

At the Rally this year 2 of these cars will be there for all to see and hear. By the way the sound is really neat as you can hear the “sucking” sound of air being turned into HP!!

If I may just make an observation.

Rich and Dennis are true masters of our GT's. I have seen their work since first meeting them at Rally 1 in Detroit. They have worked on our cars since project Petunia was born. They are, as others, paid sponsors on our Forum. And I have no affiliation with their company.

Here they offer modifications to our cars and actually have measured DATA on which to substantiate their claims of increased performance. Rich goes on to answer a multitude of individual questions regarding the offering. Not only are multiple curves posted to show all the various options available on A car but multiple combinations on multiple cars are also offered. It is always refreshing to see innovative talents at work providing services and modifications which actually deliver as promised. This takes time, effort and money to bring a product/service from infancy to maturity. They deliver.

Thanks Rich and Dennis for all that you do in blue ribbon style for us owners.
