For those that would like to attend a symposium regarding active safety systems, there's one coming up in Detroit in October -

Why do we continue to fight natural selection, very soon no one will know how to drive.

Very few "know" how to drive as is :biggrin. You want a "weird" steering feel, test drive the Q50 with the adaptive steering, no steering shaft between the wheel and the wheels

We fight natural selection all of the time. Fewer and fewer people know how to work as time goes on.

It is a bit scary, but this is the logical progression of the very first radar-based collision avoidance vehicle that I personally built for GM back in about 95, which generated numerous warning types but applied brakes only. Amazing how long it takes to bring these systems to market. We certainly didn't keep it a secret, as we demoed it for virtually every major manufacturer, and in Asia and Europe, in hopes of selling them the components. Written up in all the trade journals, and even Car & Driver. Maybe it has to do with patents which have or are running out now.
