I drove it home from Santa Margarita, California yesterday driving through heavy rain part of the way. I learned my lesson on the GT and passed on the Shaker 1000 that has a huge sub-woofer that takes up about a third of the trunk. The Shaker 500 stereo I got sounds great. Sweet sounding exhaust, handles better than the GT500 I drove a while back but it doesn't have the GT500's kick ass acceleration either. It's not the fastest car I own, and it's not the most expensive. But it may be the most satisfying. For 35 years I have wanted a Genuine Shelby Mustang, and I finally have one. Performance means different things to different people. To me, the Shelby GT gets it done. Grab the white Q-ball Hurst shifter, turn off the radio, let out the clutch, floor it, and I go from "0" to "1966" in 5 seconds. Nirvana.
