I drove it home from Santa Margarita, California yesterday driving through heavy rain part of the way. I learned my lesson on the GT and passed on the Shaker 1000 that has a huge sub-woofer that takes up about a third of the trunk. The Shaker 500 stereo I got sounds great. Sweet sounding exhaust, handles better than the GT500 I drove a while back but it doesn't have the GT500's kick ass acceleration either. It's not the fastest car I own, and it's not the most expensive. But it may be the most satisfying. For 35 years I have wanted a Genuine Shelby Mustang, and I finally have one. Performance means different things to different people. To me, the Shelby GT gets it done. Grab the white Q-ball Hurst shifter, turn off the radio, let out the clutch, floor it, and I go from "0" to "1966" in 5 seconds. Nirvana.

Please comment on shifting Chip

Does it shift sweet or what? To me it felt like your just clicking it into gears. But my take was just from sitting in it on my showroom.

Congrats,

Congrats,

The shift throws are so short they take a bit of getting used to. At first I missed 3rd and went to 5th or hit the gate in between 3rd and 5th. After 30 minutes of driving it, no problem. Shift effort is a bit higher than stock and very quick and positive. I like it and the white Q-ball shift knob looks cool!
