I have been desperately looking for a reasonably priced FGT in Europe to buy. With no success.

Maybe there are none …

Thanks for your condolences. We’re blessed here in Austria with astronomical eco taxes - almost doubling the US FGT prices. All reasonably priced FGTs I have looked at were involved in crashes had odd carfaxes, unknown service recall implementations and little documentation on car service maintenance.
