FGT strange noise

I was driving my Ford Gt the other day and I noticed a strange smell. it seemed like AC compressor fluid but I am not sure. When I got out of the car with the engine idling there is now a strange noise. I sounds like a loose or broken muffler bracket. All gauge showed normal.

Any ideas?

The AC compressor WILL make a noise something like that if it's w/o lube. But, it's usually more of a metal on metal grating sound, really.
Did you LOOK for fluid under the engine (atop the diffuser panel)?
