Click on this link to see the current number of FGTs for sale on ebay. I was surprised to see so many, but gratified to see the prices are generally original stircker or above.

Need about $1M for me to cash in on a few backup FGTs.

I guess I should submit my credit application to the "Bank of Bony" for the $1,000,000.00 loan!

I know of at least a dozen FGT's in my area that are never driven, nor are the owners active Forum members. No surprise to see them pop up on the market.

There's a war on.

(That usually settles any questions).

There is a rumor of a new gas guzzler tax on all registered high performance sports cars to solve the energy crisis, so many owners are think of selling the cars as well as buying a tire gauge.

Hope and Change.

I can imagine how many people took loans on these and are sick of the monthly nut.

Its just that time of the year guys. Alot of people tend to sell towards the end of the summer season. there are about 28 to 30 GTs for sale. Out of 4038 cars, I would say that is very low. I remember when there were 2 pages of them on ebay if not more. I have also noticed more story cars popping up. Guess thats gonna happen as they get older. There are a 4 or 5 salvage title GTs, there are 2 clean title GTs with a BAD carfax and there are a couple more that the dealers are disclosing some minor previous damage ( :thumbsup to those dealers for being HONEST). All in all, I would not count the wrecked/salvaged GTs as IMHO they dont fall in the same level (just my opinion). Anyway, this is just my take on the market. We were down to 1 GT left this week. Just purchased 2 more yesterday. INFO COMING SOON TO A FORUM NEAR YOU! :thumbsup

NOTE: Also you can subtract -10 from the number on ebay as 8 of the are actual MUSTANGS, 1 is a ford f100 TRUCK, and one is a Ford GT replica. Then take the 4 or 5 salvage cars and that brings the number rather low....

Sub-prime mortgage meltdown; gas prices; economic slowdown - spreading to other geo's; fed uncertainty about when things will turn the corner (trust me on this one); energy crisis; job losses; stock market weakness.
Those who bought their GT's on the edge of affordability are all looking through the list above and thinking EBay.
Nothing you all don't know and sorry for being such a downer, but I spent a bunch of time with our BOD two weeks back charting out some futures options. Fun, fun...
Oh, and have a nice day :)

Given some demand in Europe, combined with the strength of the Euro, we're bound to see a modest migration of GT's abroad. Such migration will reduce higher inventroy levels thereby helping to preserve solid domestic prices. Moreover, demand in the states still appears to be reasonably strong despite a struggling economy.

It seem that in spite of the ecomony the FGT is holding up very well. It appears that the F-cars are affected to a larger extent. I didn't think that would happen with the high demand for F-cars in China and Russia.

I don't really, know. However I read where a Ferrari opened a dealership there and it was chic for the nuveau rich to buy a Ferrari.

IMHO Ferrari has done a great marketing job positioning its products as the toys of the rich. So those that have the means and the wants will increase global demand.

Don't forget the middle east...$115 crude/ $15 LNG can buy a few Ford GTs. The GT1000 below belongs to the Emir of Qatar. I think the wheels would look kind of cool on a no stripe black car.

I think China is now Ferrari's fastest growing market...still not a ton of cars, prob ably less than a few hundred but still something. China has pretty good infrastructure (unlike India) and hong kong has alot of exotic buyers. Brazil is a growing market as well, and they can take advantage of the currency when shopping for a US based GT.

Thanks Iceman, interesting stuff.
For whatever reasons I don't include HK as part of China... Hong Kong is a major outlet for all luxury goods.

The big China vintage race/tour was just canceled because of the governments inability to issue transport and travel permits.

Silver, love those red wheels on the black FGT with the red stripes, is that car from Dubai?

Al Thani family is the ruling family from Qatar...so its probably in Doha. I have seen a couple GTs in dubai though. I like the wheels, i think they would look SICK on a black no stripe car.

Dont want to hijack the thread but if anyone wants to see how ridiculous some of the cars in dubai are check out www.supercarsdubai.com , unbelievable! Can't just have a normal exotic in dubai, it has to be matte black or hot pink! :ack:ack:ack

(actually the phantom does look pretty sweet, bugatti i hate) :biggrin
