The 1955 C.V. is, and always will be, my absolute favorite C.V. of all time - period.

Sad and hard to believe Ford wants to walk away from all that money. I suspect every law enforcement agency and cab company in the country is mourning the loss. Not everyone wants or needs an econobox - probably an instant 2 percent market share loss to Toyoda!

Could be, I don't know the difference (but I like them), that pic came up on a 1955 Crown Vic search.

Ralphie's right. That one's a '56 (in a similar photo, the '55 would have round parking lights and a much slimmer chrome side trim piece...the "pointy dip" on which would be further forward). But, yeah, the glass roof models are THEE end-all-and-be-alls!

The '55-'56 C.V.s even looked good with continental kits on 'em!

Check the difference in the hood ornaments. 56 was recessed. Woops I'm showing my age. 55-45 The best looking CV's.

Those 55's are beautiful.

The Crown is truely not needed in our current lineup of Ford's. The Taurus interceptor will grab alot of police and fleet share as soon as the government stops subsidizing the GM and Chrysler. Many states are taking the Chrysler's right now for the price and deal they are getting.

The 6 cyl twin turbo Taurus motor is amazing and will blow by most of the compition's V8 's and has the fuel economy to boot. Drive one it's a smooth powerplant.

Empty Pockets, Are you kidding. This weekend we had a 4 day 50th Class reunion in Galveston, Texas and I'm not dried out yet. Man what a great time with all the 60's music for 5 hrs Sat night by a great local band. My 2nd car was in 1960 my junior yr. 1955 2dr sedan, snall v8, stick shift, touquoise two-tone white. We put rolled and pleated interior, lakes plug side exhaust, long rear fender skirts to match lower color, changed rear taillights, 8 ball on shifter, (dad wouldn't let us hop up engine, as we put 460 v8 in a 40 ford Cp. and got caught dragging every night by locals and it got sold}. What the hell did dad thing my brother and I would do with it? I'll try to find a picture of the 55. We could loosen one bolt on the lakes plugs and get unbelievable sound out of that small V8. Oh Ralphie, those were the days. I play 60's CDs in my Ford GT and never listen to the radio. I think I need to take up dancing again because Sat. night I lost 6 lbs. Enough said----Ya'll started me off. Tomy Hamon

Sounds like fun Tomy. While you were doing the "swim" with your former high school flames, Charley and I held down the fort for you at the Texas A&M game. The Aggies destroyed Idaho but OSU will put up a much better fight this Saturday. Hope to see you there.

Tomy, its all yours, Ive got to many skeletons anyway, I cant even get a straight answer as to where is my birth certificate from my parents......almost.same age as you know who....Im just trying to do one day in canada.....
On another note, yes the 56 is inverted on the hood....the huge difference is 55 is 6 volt positive ground and the dash is a little more old fashion.....some one has my 56 pics from carlisle?
55/56, those are classic vintage america auto's at its best...
But, well you know what I think today......

Joey, Wow, lets not get on the closet skeletons subject. I can't go there. Wouldn't pass the smell or taste test in this part of Texas. My Best. Tomy
