Yukk!!! What a horrible thought - Shelby saw them load it I'm guessing, so he'd know for sure. I know when we moved it from place to place yesterday, we didn't do that, but rather used a winch with the towhook, which went smoothly and took only minutes to do. In any case, I had to move the top door rest on the roof down almost to the end of it's travel (same position as the passenger door) and the door latch works perfectly now, same as the passenger's door. It had been adjusted once before; I could see that due to the marks where the 3 adjusting screws are located...but if someone had crawled through the window and weighed the door down, the door rest would have been lowered already from the extra weight, not raised, as I found them to be. Love the car, but I have to say, Ford fit and finish isn't exactly that of even my Viper...and this car isn't really any different in that respect from others I've seen before. Nice paint, where it's outwardly visible, but poor on the edges or corners of the small fitted parts. Rear quarter panels seem to develop a widening gap from the top to the bottom. It's doesn't change my view of the super car - it's still the coolest /sexiest and highest performance toy in my stable right now!
What really gets me, is that a nearly 50-year old design like this still blows most other exotics away - and looks like it could have been a modern design created in the last few years! Ford really was ahead of its time with this car. The design is truly timeless.
Has anyone installed a rear view cam to overcome the no-rear-visibility issue? Scary backing this thing up unless someone's standing outside the car to use as a marker :lol
