Have we noticed how ebay, auto trader and all the like have noticably less to nothing in gt's for sale. I thought during this winter, bad economy ect. they would be out in bargain basement land. NOT ONLY HAVE THEY DRIED UP , THE PRICES EVEN THOUGH SOME SAY ARE CHEAP AR STILL 5 TO 10 GRAND OVER DEALER COST WITH MILES ON THEM AND REMEMBER AN 05 IS 2 YEARS OLD!! Well lucky i have mine i think even though im a driver that these guys are poised to go through the roof. :thumbsup . notice real gt40s unless have race history are down too, why stink of gas just drive a new one. Great testiment to this car. WHAT SAYS YOU? happy to have one gtjoey 1314:biggrin

You called it Joey! I've been watching AutoWeek classifieds for three years now on these cars, and while it's not exactly scientific I find it an interesting barometer. For most of last spring and summer there were typically 10-15 GTs listed in the classified. Now you're lucky if you see two! And yup, the very few that show up are still going for over MSRP.

Hmmm, it's almost like this car is somehow different from your typical exotic. Let's see: First vehicle of it's type for Ford. Based on one of the most famous race cars of all time. Only made for two years. No prospects in sight (short OR long-term) for Ford to ever do another one in my lifetime.

As Joey says:

GLAD I GOT MINE!!! :banana :banana :banana

While I won't say the GT is some magic car that won't depreciate, I think the pool of cars that will ever end up for sale is much, much smaller than a similar Ferrari 360 or G-car. People are going to keep this car. People like Joey, myself, Karl. Who knows where prices head in the short term, but it will be interesting to see. My guess is that as they inch downward, prices will be sustained by people owning one buying another. People are already doing that, let alone once they start showing up with a bit of mileage and lower prices.

I got the list of "for sale" cars for a couple friends last week, and out of the 168 left, it became clear immediatley virtually none of them were really still there. People who were out there last year claiming they'd be sub 100k in two years are going to be very, very wrong.

p.s, look at ebay. There used to be 65-75 cars on there all the time. Hasn't been that way in months.

I firmly believe that in the spring/summer..."cool car buyers time".....our cars will see a bit of an increase over current prices. This will in itself be amazing, given the normal 1-2 year depreciation hit you would expect.

What bad economy??? We have very low unemployment, stronger than expected GNP growth, very low interest rates, record corporate profits, stock market pushing 13,000. The economy couldn't be better. Strong economy means lots of liquidity and lots of cash available for GT purchases. If anything the economy is helping firm GT prices. My perspective anyway. :cheers

2nd that good economy. On Wall St. all deal records were broken last yr. (ex. Nasdaq 5000).

Although oil, real estate, and the Fed continue to be shaky.

Winter generally blows.

What you say is very true, but i do want to mention that Michigan's economy is not very hot right now. And Michigan holds a lot of GTs right now. But this really doesnt mean anything.

It's all a myth man, a myth. Run for your life, the sky is falling.

For the past couple years all BLS and BEA data has been skewed, misleading, or ambiguous. Can you imagine the lovefest if the statistics today were around with a Democrat in office? :willy

If she is elected, we wont have to worry about the economy because she obviously has all of the answers :ack

In fact she would be the best president to fight terrorism :frown

Isn't there an age restriction in NZ? The wife and I (she English) have given it much thought.

If the Demos were in charge right now the press would be declaring this the best economy in 50 fears. When Billary F's it up it will be the fault of a vast right conspiracy.:rofl
