I'm not a big fan of sanitized perfect live music. I can definitely appreciate the neurotic tendencies required to achieve it, but I prefer an experience different to throwing on a CD. I killed myself (and my hearing) compulsively going to concerts in the 1990s when I lived in London and I've been trying to go more lately. I'd like to make it a priority to see Radiohead, as they were one of the bands I somehow missed during that era.
Yo Yo Ma visited Steve Jobs at his home, and after playing a song he told Jobs he would have played at his wedding, Jobs told him "You playing is the best argument I've heard for the existence of God, because I don't really believe a human alone can do this." After he found out he had cancer, he made Yo Yo Ma promise to play at his funeral, which he did.
Thom Yorke makes me say the same thing to myself.
