I attended the 2012 Chicago Auto Show last weekend & didn't realize it is the longest running auto show in the world - since 1901. I met up with Dr Frank & IndyGT for the weekend. It was also 50 & sunny there which was a nice treat for this Californian. The weather allowed some cool cars out on the road that I saw along with the ones in the auto show. Ford had the best display in my biased opinion. It was fun & huge.

The GT500 dyno was the best.

I guess that is putting your money where your mouth is. :rolleyes

Oh, I'd better post a few non-Ford photos.

It is a great show. I bought a rare color Lamborghini with matching color carbon fiber right off the stand at the Chicago show in 2002.

Always a good show.

Pretty neat hot dog!

Ed, great shots, thanks.
I've been reading about that Subaru BRZ in the car mags, how did it look?

KJRGT - the BRZ reminded of the ol Datsun Z. I like the shape.

FBA - that's a Chicago dog from Portillo's. It's the only place to get one! Their beef sandwich is fantastic also. Coldest beer around!

Ed

Looks like you ame Heidi had a blast. Wish I was there.

Thanks for posting the pictures Ed. The "gotta have it green" Boss is calling my name. Did Ford release any numbers for GT500 dyno runs at the show?

Sinovac - they were lame "too many people standing too close" pulls. I only heard mph not hp/torque announcements. It did sound nice though. Cool car. My wife loved the green Boss. I was partial to the yellow.

Jaxgt - you're joining us next year!

Ed

Bummer. I see Dr. Frank recommended your diet on the trip. Keep in mind his field of expertise. :lol

Nice pix Ed! I like that they are putting the "original" color scheme on the new Boss 302. Can't believe there was no snow on the ground and that it was 50 in February in Chicago!

Ja, the weather was crazy warm for a Chicago mid-winter Piccola.

Sinovac - Dr Frank is on a meat only diet!

Ed

"If God wanted us to be vegetarians, why did he make animals out of meat?"

Thanks Ed! (and Frank)

Thanks for posting Ed!
We too had a great time again this year....

Looks like you ame Heidi had a blast. Wish I was there.

Jaxgt, did not know you were a serious contender. Please join us next year! I want to hear about your Cad's.

Sinovac, the dyno GT500 was a 2012 model NOT the new 2013. The new Shelby was static display only and most likely a pre-production. The dyno display was just a crowd pleaser (which it certainly was by the crowds it gathered at demo time) where they would pick random people to "ride" in the car as the driver barked through 4 gear shifts. No HP numbers displayed (probably a bit technical for the gereral crowd who just liked the noise) and at the end of the 4th gear run the car was at about "140" mph which was announced. Last year Ford had a 2012 Competition Orange Boss on the dyno for the same type of display.

Great pictures Ed, good to see you yesterday at Eurosunday!

The Ferrari's had us out numbered by a ton but the 2 GTs definitely were the crowd pleasers!
