Ron,
Please don't get the Nissan... I just can't see you behind the wheel of a Japanese car!

I'll second Jeff's high praise of the new Mustang GT with 5.0, six speed and track pack. McGowan took me for a laps around the track and I'm glad it was before lunch, cause i sure would have puked. It's a great car.

I saw the Boxster Spyder in person at the LA Auto show and thought it looked quite nice indeed.

Probably not a practical daily driver in that specific configuration, but it did look very well integrated as a design.

If you want to stay along the lines of the GT, what about a 2000 cobra R? $35-45K for a nice one, an easy keeper, some 'minor' engine similarities, and if you can't find any wood, you are dead.

Get a base Vette.

I think with employee pricing its like $40K; you can beat cr@p out of it and it retains its re-sale value 2nd only to Lexus.

You can leave it outside, it wont rust.

Use the other $20K for tires, or Vegas.

'Can't fault Kayvan's argument here at all. I was going to suggest a C-6 ZO6 myself, as you made no reference to any desires/needs for any additional SEATING capacity - only $$$. And the ZO6 is right where you wanna go in both that dept AND in performance.

Ok made my decision .
I am ruined by my Gt .There is no other .If I had the cash I would have another Gt .Can't get anyone to sell me one for 70k though!
So I have now driven a Gtr .Very impressive .
1st You can drive it ,park it,get gas in it with out a crowd mobbing you .Yup its a sleeper. This is the appeal.
2nd The performance is staggering !Really ,really!!
3rd My wife will travel and go in it .It actually has a trunk that will fit more than 2 pairs of undergarments!!
4th I can take it to the track and humiliate my buddies in P and F cars!
I know I know its a Nissan .That badge will come off!!So all I will see is GTr!
Don't be mad at me!!! Please !
I am one of you !!!
A Ford Gt guy through and through!!
Of course if someone wants to sell me a Gt for 70k .I will cancel my order!!
Thank you all for your input .
See you at the rally in my Ford gt !!

Roketman - I almost bought a GTR as I really liked them. Very fast out of the box. A few k in mods and scary quick. Only reason I didn't pull the trigger was the seat was a bit too uncomfortable for me with its big bolsters and I didn't want to mess with trying to mod it, and not knowing if I'd be comfortable in it.

Ultimately, I wound up getting a Cadillac CTS-V - pretty different car being a sedan, but really nice.
