That's hilarious!

When he's on, as he was last night, watching Verlander is like watching an artist. Man against boys. Melvin said his club is a good fastball hitting team. They could've had tennis racquets and not hit JV.

Haha Dave, that's too funny!! And so true.

It must be true it was on the Internet

It really is. I found it extremely comical when some people were talking about trading JV after the season Scherzer had. Shows you how spoiled people are when they even entertain the notion of jettisoning a guy that put up a 3.46 era and 217 strikeouts in a "bad" season.

There are some needed trades in Detroit, but they aren't pitchers.

On a related note, are we going to Specracers house for the Boston Games?? :party

I already texted Andy this morning asking if they were coming here. :lol

Justin is a distant neighbor and a huge car guy.

He grew up here and was not hugely recruited and played at Old Dominion in Norfolk.

He has a 458 and Aventator and some other goodies. He and his parents could not be nicer. It is so nice to see a good guy make it.

I think you boys may be coming to St. Louis. GO CARDS!

I'm hoping, but as long as Cabrera is hobbling around like he has been the last couple of months, the threat of a major run drought is ongoing.

Only thing worse than Illinois Nazis are Illinois Cardinal fans... and I HATE Illinois Nazis. :biggrin

My sister is a Professor at Old Dominion. Justin was taking her class the year he signed. When they started class that day she asked why everyone was pre-occupied. Someone, not Justin explained he had just signed to play MLB. She asked him why he was in school that day instead of celebrating. True Story, he told her he made a commitment to finish that class and he did. She says he was by far one of her favorite students. Sounds like a class act and a baseball artist.

Well wasn't that an interesting day in Boston sports yesterday..... Pats then the sox....

Yep. Komeback Kids, both teams.

As a die-hard forever Yanks fan, I've seen Papi do it before.

Tigers lost a game they thought they had but they're going home 1-1 with still more great pitching.

And that Saints-Pats game was fun watching even though I had no dog in the fight.

You got lucky. :bored

That was painful to watch. I actually turned it off and followed it on ESPN gamecast because I knew it was gonna happen.

Not sure I get why you pitch to Ortiz in that situation. Especially not sure why you hit him with change up in the strike zone on pitch 1. Sigh.

Yup, that pitch was tailor made, put it on the tee, screaming hit me the minute Benoit let it go...

Fan conspiracy theory (follow the money): Jim Leyland knows better ~ the call came from outside the dugout. Rationale, if you extend the series and go three games instead of two games in Detroit, do you sell more, the same amount or fewer pizzas? :lol

Not if you want to sell more in a 7 game series!
