I know I read about this before but I don't recall a picture of it. The Aston Martin Emblem on our brakes :rofl

And one more picture with a good shot of the billet aluminum a-arms, for Matt...

...because St Patty's day is coming up and he needed a little green on. :biggrin

Wasn't it stated on some thread around here somewhere that AM used the same pads (etc) on their cars as the FGT (or vice versa)? I seem to recall reading that. If so, then this isn't AS surprising.

Don't know if anyone else picked up on this...but the door actuators are from a Land Rover LR3 rear tailgate opener...

Got the parts, let's use 'em!

Didn't know that. Why reinvent the wheel?

Ooooops, shoulda said..."while fixing a Lotus, again, and again, and again...." You get my point.

I've got a few carry over parts for the list.

Steering column, multi function switch, and Shroud - Focus
Washer bottle fill cap assembly - Volvo
Steering Rack - AM or Jag ??
Inside door handles - Econoline Club Wagon.
Door latch Assembly - Chevy Impala :eek
Front and Rear Tie Rods - Lincoln LS

Hood and Lift Gate Latches are carry over, but I can't recall from which car line.

The brake calipers are AM, but I'm sure the pads would have a different compound. :thumbsup

Pad material

The brake caliper is shared with the AM DB9. We went with a more aggressive/responsive pad material vs. AM with no real brake noise plates (those steel plates and paste between the pad and caliper pistons). AM tried to use our pad material but could not live with the brake noise. It turns out that the GT is very robust to brake noise due to its modal separation of the front suspension componets.

Its got cop shocks, cop tyres, cop brakes, cop engine, and the engine was designed pre catalitic converters so it will run OK on regular gas. So, what do you say ... is it the new Blues mobile?
