Anyone headed to SAAC 35 in NAPA this week?

The show Starts Friday at Infineon Raceway (formerly Sears Point). Open Drag Racing Friday night... I will have my 67 GT500 doing the 1/4 mile

That was a long day. If you have an old Yahoo or Hotmail email account laying around and you used it to setup your current email, beware. International crew of hackers have been cracking Yahoo and Hotmail accounts left and right. They go into your contacts, send a blast email, and when someone falls for the fake email, they send wiring instructions for the cash. I had 600 people in my contacts, one guy who I have not talked to in 2 years sent $2k..... Anyway, that was a long day getting that all back under my control.

See you on the 1/4mile track in my GT Heritage. I was going to bring the 67 GT500 but it's got a pretty fresh motor and restoration, hate to blow it up. We gotta go side by side, this is gonna be fun. I got my camera mount and HD camera ready.

I have never done drag (despite living in Calif.:lol). What safety equipment is required for this type of event? Helmet, fire suit, gloves? I plan on going out to Infineon tomorrow. The idea of drag racing sounds fun, but makes me nervous as well.

I'm not sure. I think just a helmet is fine. Maybe long pants? In Texas they didn't care.

We are planning to pull out of Sac at noon to be at the track around two and there will be BlackICE, and Piana awaiting our arrival.

Good time had by Forum Members on Friday at the drag races. I'll let the members report on their experiences. I'll just say the Ford GT's were the loudest and fastest.

I think a lot of guys in there modified Shelby GT500's and Supersnakes and 427 Cobras were completely shocked at the raw kick ass performance of a GT. I got a bad start vs a 427 Cobra and as soon as 2nd kicked in I reeled him in like a pan fish on a shark line, game over. I had never pushed that car like that. I can't tell you how safe and confident you feel with your foot through the floor.

Piana, they just gave out awards at the dinner tonight. You won with a 135mph top speed, I got second with a 127.50.

The performance of the three GT's seems to be the talk of the convention. I don't think people who have only raced modified shelbys and cobras have seen them in action like that before.

Fun times. Now, I have rubber to go peel off my car!!!
