I have seen a few posts looking for a good dealer in So. Cal. to have GT's serviced at.
I was very happy at one point with the dealer I purchased mine from but that service mgr. is gone and his replacement flat out doesn't want the responsibility of these cars in his shop (his words).

I later spoke with a Ford Factory Rep and was told Ken Grody Ford might be a good place to call.

Today I spoke with Chris Stark service mgr, and was told all the right things. The owner is a racer, very meticulous and owns a few GT's himself. The cars are serviced at an off site location set up to work on high end projects, touched by only one tech, don't care if you stay and watch, they tape the SS sill so not to scuff it etc. He also stated if they can't fix a problem they will have it flat bedded to Saleen (pannel alignments) . I plan to give them a try.

As I have stated in other posts, the only and I mean ONLY down side of my GT ownership has been the low comfort level of service. I think that is about to change. :thumbsup

Thanks Steve for taking the time to post this and share your thoughts with us.

As I approach my break in mileage, after 11 days, this is definitely a concern of mine as well.

Much as I would like to change my own oil, I want to develop a lasting relationship with a dealer, as it is inevitable that some sort of warranty issue will arise.

Thanks Steve. I could not agree more about the only downside comment, as I have said it many times myself. Really appreciate you sharing the info on a good local Ford dealer for us all.

As I have mentioned in previous posts, I am sure you will be very pleased with the service and knowledge of the guys handling the work on your GT at Ken Grody's. They have the knowledge and are very willing to work on any GT, whether or not you purchased from them. They are also equipped to do any and all mods to your car if you so choose. I will have my car in again on Wed. for an oil change, tire/wheel swap and possibly a couple other mods. And yes, your car is taken to a private location to one very talented tech, with years of experience in high performance cars, doing the actual work.

Excellent SteveA, good info, do you ahve an address and tele for Ken Grody Ford?

Temecula to Palm Springs GT Rally coming up next month on the 18th of November. Is this a bad date for you? Can you hitch a ride with your GT pal in the Red GT?

Steve,

That a service manager would make such a statement is grounds for termination of employment in my opinion, and if the owner of the dealership feels the same way, he should be selling another brand, or used cars. I hope someone at Ford is reading these posts. The folks here at Greenwood Ford in Bowling Green, Kentucky have been very willing to assist in any way possible and look forward to working on the car as needed. Tony the Service Manager is outstanding. Sorry to hear of your problems, good luck.

Welcome to Southern California.

Several months ago, I visited a couple dealers and told them I was serious about purchasing a GT.

The follow up was not impressive.

So, I ended up buying from Pennsylvania.

And I sold cars myself for two dealerships more than a decade ago, so I was polite and respectful to the sales people and managers, having been there myself before.

I have two GTs and live in Malibu and have had incredible service from Kemp Ford in Thousand Oaks, CA. Bruce Perkins the service manager and Dan McKay their GT mechanic are awesome. They have worked on both of mine, with the normal GT issues (2005 gas vapor loss and small oil leak, 2006 loose ground) and have done a great job. They always treat me and the cars with the most respect. I am always consulted throughout the process and they always call corporate to make sure they are moving in the right direction. My cars are always taped up, such as door siles, to make sure there are no marks. I have never had to wait for an appointment and the two times that the cars had to stay there overnight, they put them up on a hoist so no one can even touch them. Dan told me he has worked on 11 GTs to date. Also the owner of the dealership, own a GT himself (blue). Can't reccomend them enough. You are welcome to use my name. Jonathan Rader

Which Ken Grody are you all talking about. There is one in Carlsbad and one in Buena Park that I know of, I am assuming its the Buena Park Ken Grody. However if the Carlsbad Ken Grody had that kind of service for Ford GT's I would be very happy since that is 5 mins away!

It's the Buena Park location. However it would make sense they are under the same ownership.
