Don't know if anyone here follows this, but it almost wasn't, America's Cup, that is. Down 8 to 1, Oracle/Ellison/US et.al managed a huge comeback winning the next eight races to capture the Cup. The current yachts do not resemble anything like the past mono hull designs that sailed in classic 'offshore' venues. Revisions to the sport brought new design and technology, and importantly, a venue that was much closer to shore - a huge improvement for spectators (and I assume sponsors).

A really interesting fellow, I had the opportunity to meet Mr. Ellison a few years ago while on Maui. A couple of years later he buys a neighboring island of Lanai'i.

You kinda' wonder what he'll do next.
