Mine is already fraying w/3000 miles even tho I’m careful not to drag my feet. Other people do get in & out of it including my employees, ford service, car wrap & I regularly let youngsters sit in it
Ford wants over $7000 for carbon fiber sill so I’m thinking I’ll make some. Maybe they could just snap over the alcantara
If anybody would like a pair for their car Please advise

Would love carbon sills. I inquired also. $7000 for pair nuts

It's fairly challenging, maybe impossible, to get in without sliding/contacting sill. That's one of the reasons I chose the upgraded interior. Also alcantara tends to pick up & show every piece of lint, dust, etc.

PS If you could make those 1931imperial I'm sure there will be some interest.

The pieces come off pretty easily. I would think that you could re wrap them. I have the CF versions, but took them out to wrap them with matte Xpel.

My concierge forwarded me to TJ who called me back today indicating this had been escalated to engineering who says wear & ford will not make any repairs. I of course told him I thought design was unacceptable & that for well over 1/2 a million I understood I shouldn’t expect to much

Guys - this is a 'wear item' in a vulnerable location.... it is fabric on a door sill.
eventually every car with alcantera will wear . you cannot expect them all to be replaced.

Like Andy said, that piece comes off easily. I’d remove it, paint it and put PPF film over it.

Similar to what Paul is suggesting above, while not a perfect solution, but better than $7k, what about a CF hydrodip, then wrap with Xpel?

Holy cow. I mean I'm sympathetic, but that is some ROUGH getting in and out. At roughly 3k miles mine looked indistinguishable from new.

Mine looks like new at 6000 miles.
Just be careful and realize "it is fabric" and it will last.

I go in head first, hand on the polished carbon fiber between the seats, get my butt in and lift my feet over the sill. At 30k still clean. One little nick where some bozo didn’t listen to me.
