Maybe in their infinite wisdom they will give us a little power back pre-race... yeah, right. :rolleyes

Didn't it start out similarly last year and then they backed off later in the season? Doesn't help Le Mans though.

For it being fair and impartial, it sure seems personal.

In light of the competitor V8 engines and their relative displacements, it is difficult to understand the thinking behind the weight penalty along with the mandated power deficit to the Ford GT. Worse, the 14 lap (max) stint is detrimental to any economy/efficiency strategy. Mike Hull (Ganassi) has his hands full on race strategy.

The handful, in my opinion, this year will the 4 RSRs. Porsche won't be shy about using them in a team effort.

There's no incentive to do a zero waiver, cutting edge car, when you can just race an old brick like the Aston and get it all evened out with BOP. Or better than evened out. Why spend the money.

All the wrong incentives....

Likely so, we’ll probably need some ‘thicker’ body panels. That’s said, Ganassi/Hull also has four cars to work with and it seems that the GT, on a relative basis, is easier on it’s tires than the Porsche. I like our cadre of drivers and the GT chassis. We’ll see.

Smallest engine with the least amount of boost!

That's socialist racing for you :thumbsup

To be fair the Aston is a new brick now, not an old brick! I drove the new car the other day. It was quite nice. Didn't realize that they were getting all powertrain and electronics from Merc now. Not as pretty as the old one.

Smallest engine and least boost might be marginally less irritating if fuel wasn't adjusted for arbitrary maximum lap count. Seems to obviate the utility of fuel strategy, unless I'm missing something.

They may have pulled out of LMP1 but the FIA is making sure that Porsche will win Le Mans again this year. This political bullshit sucks.

Well, yes there is. The BOP penalizes first place finishes, whether they were due to superior technology, or superior driving, or both.
