Well after waiting 8 months from the order date my GT 500 finally arrived as I wasn't 100% sure about the color when I ordered it but after the arrival I must say I am happy. I haven't had any time to spend with it yet due to a restoration in the process and the completion of a new storage building but I do plan on getting plenty of seat time before heading out to Florida at the end of the month. Originally I did order this car with a stripe delete but for some reason Ford sent it with the stripe so I decided to except it just as it is. Now I need to figure out what mods to do :willy
Thanks to DBK, Rich, and Jim for all of their help!

I like it with the stripes.

Congratulations!

I really like that color. Just sold my white one I had at the rally. Was looking for a Grabber blue to replace it with, but ended up getting a bright red with matte black stripes convertible. Will be here next week. :)
You will enjoy that car :)

Pe2una-

Beautiful car! And this is interesting. Blake ordered the same Grabber Blue, Stripe Delete Mustang....

And the car arrived at the dealership WITH stripes. Dealer checked the order and sure enough they ordered the car correctly as a stripe delete car.

With all the order automation, checking and such, I wonder HOW this can happen. Two cases I now know of.

Anyone else have a 2013 GT500 stripe delete car arrive with stripes?

Yes Indy total BS... my dealer also provided copies of the paperwork showing the stripe delete. Strange if you ask me

Congrats John...looks great!

Aren't the stripes removable?

Yes, they are only stickers and will pull right off. For the 30+ year collector, it may be a problem that it doesn't show on sticker it was a stripe delete, but other than that pull them off and you have a stripe delete car....
:)

Exactly...I ordered it that way only because of the potential collector value

Kind of what I figured.... :)

It was always my intention to paint the strips on after I got the car but will not have side stripes. Like Shelby said the stripes pull right off, especially on a new car. When the dealer sent me photos of my car I call him up and ask Y he sent me photos of someone else’s car because mine was a strip delete, first reaction was Holy S!?t, within 30 minutes I got another photo of my stripe delete, that’s how long it took them to pull the stripes. As far as collectability in 30 years, that will probably be my son’s problem! Should have photos of the car with painted strips in a couple of weeks.

I'm wondering if you have documentation and pictures on delivery if it would add a little value to the car even if you pull the stripes. It may not to the hard core collector but someone out there might like the idea of a "story" about the car.

Love the Grabber Blue. Congrats on a fantastic purchase! The new Mustangs are amazing performers.

You boys should have orederd RED!

We're leaving that for you!!

I just sent this information to another member and I had no idea that the stripes were a different size throughout the entire car. Just standing there looking at it you can't tell at all.

All stripes 1 1/2" apart
Front bumper & just above front bumper 10 1/8"
Small nose above radiator intake 10"
Hood small piece 10" tapered back to 10 3/16"
Hood long piece 10 1/4" tapered back to 10 11/16"
Roof 11 1/8"
Trunk and spoiler 11"
Rear bumper 11 3/16"

pe2unia, stop waxing the axles and underbody and drive the damn thing already!

Thats the way they have done it going back the last few years. No one ever seems to notice. It is strange how the eye does not detect it.

There is alot to remove on the current model to get stripes painted well. We even pull the glass on most.

That is how they did it in the 60's too.

Nice car John, now go drive and enjoy it
