Last Saturday night at Colorado National Speedway My 2005 GT Won 1st Place at Circle track Drag Racing. I must admit I did not push the car as hard as I use to push a Late model stock car around the track. Mainly because you are sourounded by cement walls. I would of killed myself if I broke traction and hit the wall. It was a Kick to show it off!

They start off with 16 cars. Two at a time on a 3/8 oval, maby reaching speeds of 80 mph. The cars start from a dead stop at the start line, race one lap to the finnish line. The winner advances to the next elimination round untill you have a winner. The down side to this is you could wreck your car and there is no insurance coverage. You also half to spend the rest of the weekend picking out debrey from your tires. It was worth it!

Check with your local Race Tracks. This new concept started out here and is catching on fast.

'Good thing you didn't "push it" judging from the gravel quarry you ended up with in those tires! :eek

Large amounts of small debris like the stones in the pic can put a car into the nearest wall with surprising ease! :ack :willy:willy:willy

Yea, you are right. I picked up the loose rubber on the track and then when I left the pits all of the rocks and gravel stuck. I then got on the frontage road and highway, it sounded like shotgun blast's from each tire. It is great to have inner fender protectors. No body dammage.

That sounds like fun ! I would be more concerned about the other guy getting out of shape in the turns !! :ack

Many guys can't keep'em straight going in a straight line let alone the roundie rounds ,,,:biggrin

In Michigan we call this king of the hill racing. Or spectator drags.

Must be street legal and driven to the track.

Drivers do not have any oval track experience.

Standing starts, single lap races, 2 cars at a time.

Single elimination rounds. Winner of each round stay out on the track. And takes on the next racer.

Until they run out Spectator racers willing to run that night.

No rules anything goes, full contact racing. Mostly big engines in clunkers.

In Michigan you can only win one event per season.
Then all the weekly winners are invited to the king of the hill final @ the seasons end.
