That seems to be the trend in cars now. You don't own it, you "license" it. And something I have learned from my experience buying a new 2021 F150 diesel is that every time you want to access the monthly vehicle report that Ford provides, you first have to accept the new privacy and licensing...

So the plastic binnacle around the gauge panel is $3200??? That's absurd, and a good example of a part that can be 3D printed for a fraction of that price.

I've had the Cooltech improved lifts for two years. Do not even consider the stock replacements.

I'm not buying any more plastic trim parts. I figure 3D printing will be able to replace them. Clamshell vents? Print them as needed and paint to match. Or print them in any color you want. I think that in a couple years 3D printing in metal will be cheap enough to make some of those parts too.
