If you're headed back west after the Rally it really doesn't add much time to go North to Midland to see the museum then west on I-20 until it runs into I-10 in Van Horn Tx. I know that driving south from Midland to I-10 and then taking that to 290 near Junction takes a lot longer than going 158...
