    Wheel & ride height question

I think I am going to be ill, dual roll bars, hi back seats and glued on letters all in one thread.

Ford demonstrates collision avoidance with automatic evasive steering

Why do we continue to fight natural selection, very soon no one will know how to drive.

    Programming Blip Throttle Downshifts?

I have seen some computer data from a top level formula car team and even the most talented driver on the team exhibited variation in brake pressure during down shift blips which means a loss in braking efficiency. Throttle blips are usually executed with a side roll of the foot not heal toe if...

    Programming Blip Throttle Downshifts?

Since we do not have electronic throttle blades do they have an throttle body air bypass system to generate the blip?

Just ordered my new 2014 GT3

My neighbor took delivery on his GT3 about 1 month ago, he drove it until the "fire" recall, the dealer took it back and gave him a Cayenne to drive in the meantime, according to the dealer no fix has been determined. He is a long time road racer and has raced, Formula Ford, Formula Atlantic...

    Shoud I buy a Superformance GT 40 Heritage ??

I believe all the "Anvil" engines are over 5 liters, so they can make that kind of power. The GM LS engines are a world class design that cranks out gobs of power per CID, (your Z06 was at least 5.7 liters) much better than the Ford push rod small blocks, the only thing better are the Ford...

They also use 110 leaded race gas, not practical in a street car.

    Shoud I buy a Superformance GT 40 Heritage ??

There are several unscrupulous engine builders that add 100 HP or more to their dyno sheets for customer bragging rights, a naturally aspirated, streetable old school 5 liter Ford is not going to make 550.

    Shoud I buy a Superformance GT 40 Heritage ??

All good except for the not having trouble with Webers part, Their middle name is trouble, air correctors, accelerator pump jets, emulsion tubes, main metering jets, synchronization, throttle linkage, float levels, fuel pressure and other settings, good luck. A nice 4 barrel will solve all that.

    Oh great, another gauge failure.

Cylinder head temperature is a more reliable way of predicting overheating, a traditional water temperature gauge does not always indicate correct temperatures especially when there is no water in contact with the gauge sensor. I once lost an engine because I thought temperatures were fine when...

    1966 GT40 MK2A "Tribute" on ebay

If that engine is making a decent amount of power (always questionable with FE's) that ZF transaxle will not last when driven hard instead of going to car shows.

    Shoud I buy a Superformance GT 40 Heritage ??

There is a huge difference between a properly engineered product that has all systems tested, verified and relevant areas certified to meet or exceed NHTSA standards and a Chinese copy of a 1960's race car. Yes, I know the car came from South Africa but you get the idea, there is absolutely no...

    Oh great, another gauge failure.

I lost an engine in a Formula Atlantic car because of a loss in oil pressure and thought it would be a good idea to put an automatic kill switch in if I lost oil pressure. A couple of races later I lost oil pressure in a high speed corner, the engine quit and I crashed, the damage to the car...

    F1 2014

They sound like a Zetec powered F-2000 car, they should have stuck with the NA V8 engines because of the wonderful sound they produce. I am sure they will get the power and speed under the new rules but the sound will not be there.

    GT at Mecum Kissimmee

This may not be true any more but when I was with Ford we had a process that off-set bored the wheel .005-.006" in relation to the valve stem hole, (forged wheels will not be out of balance because of the precise manufacturing process). The tire manufacturer would measure the force variation...

    18" on rear

The CAN-BUS will be looking for proper ABS operation, if does not get the proper information the ECU will "protect" you and not allow full output so you will not have ABS or HP.

    18" on rear

Speedo will be fine, ABS will not, I set diameter and still got an ABS light after about 2 hard track laps. The car then went into limp home mode and I had to reflash the tune to get another two laps. You would need to change the tone wheels to get the ABS to work with off size diameters or...

    New Z06

Heat is a real problem with boost, my NA Cobra makes about 150 less crank HP than my GT with 26 lbs of boost but the Cobra will run all day without over heating, the GT might get 3 laps. I can get about 10-12 laps with my radiator sprayer but that is a huge PIA what with the water tank etc...

    New Z06

The LS package size is very impressive compared to Ford modular designs especially when you factor in displacement. The LS engine family has a lot going for it when you consider weight, cost to manufacture physical size and fuel economy. The recent engine masters challenge for normally...

    2015 Ford F-150

I really like my current F-150 crew cab with Ecoboost, it pulls an 8500 lb trailer as well as the older diesels I used to get ( 7.3, 6.0) and gets better mileage doing it. My only concern with the new truck is will the weight reduction cause a trailer handling problem. I noticed that the F-150...
