Owner Review: GT vs. Nissan GTR (photos)

I noticed an ad on TV last night for the CTS coupe, with a ship date, that Cadillac showed a few months back. GM said it was cancelled a while back. Apparently the infusion of money put it back on the roadmap. A good sign.

    Why did i do it?

I'm clearly revealing my lack of knowledge here, but I thought that the FGT ECU could not adjust for increased (or reduced) octane. Doesn't that require a knock sensor - arguably lacking from the car? Unless a different tune was downloaded/used - in which case it truly is now a necessity. :)

Happy To Be Joining "The GT Club"

Congratulations. That's a beautiful car. What does Shelby have in store for you? And yes, you absolutely will not regret it. The car and this crowd are the finest.

    Looking at used GT tomorrow...

Yep, it ran longer than originally planned. Mine is #899 (from recollection) and they have those drool-worthy machining patterns on them. Every time I go to the local C&C event, and the F-car owners take a look at them, they look a little woozy :)

    Shadowman's Gal Arrives in Florida

Thank you. I'll likely take you up on your offer. I met Ted and he was exactly as you describe. Also provides an impressive demo drive. And the LS7 will be the way I go. Nostalgia takes a back seat to reliable fuel injections and Ti connecting rods! The only other thing I'd like to know is, on...

    Shadowman's Gal Arrives in Florida

An Ultima (CanAm) is at the top of my list for next project. I've been to the UK factory with my son and took a (right seat) test drive. They gave my son a drive as well. Boy, was he beaming. I just have to find the time and space for the assembly. Congrats on the pair.

Spark plugs giving way to lasers

I've asked my boys for one of these every fathers day for the past few years... http://gizmodo.com/tag/femtosecond-laser/ It's a laser AND a spark plug. Kinda'.

SCT TSX Beta testing in progress

Of course you're correct not to presume. But what I meant is that a common feature on many aftermarket GPS devices is to also offer BT speakerphone/voice-dialing functions, among other functions. Recent state law changes are accelerating this. And it's part of the digital device convergence...

This is how i lowered my coolent temps

After reading this thread, and setting out, along with my 19 year old son, to do some surgery on the Porsche, I am really impressed. We decided to add a center radiator to the 997S after grafting a GT3 bumper on the car. A fun thing to do with the young man and, since I saved all that $$ doing...

SCT TSX Beta testing in progress

I suspect Tim means bluetooth for hands-free phone use. And I completely agree with him. This is bluetooth for wireless data transfer. Also cool, but I suspect the GPS/BT combo would attract a huge number of enthusiasts. And Tim, you really have to change your avatar. I can't stop laughing...

    Black gold stripe GT

YES, the gold coins. I think they were going to melt the car down and turn it in to dental work. Too bad actually, I'm a closet Pantera lover. Just not the gold kind. I was at a C&C gathering yesterday and a fellow at a highly modified Pantera. New motor/trans (huge), moved a few inches forward...
