    Bad Rear Lateral Links

I ordered the parts from Tasca Ford in Rhode Island. The left and right sides are the same part number. If yours lasted 45k miles, yours did better than mine. No, the bushings remained intact and still had their full range of motion. The grease boots failed on both links. I didn't notice...

    Bad Rear Lateral Links

Well, it only took me a year to replace those bad rear lateral links. I had been putting it off in order to knock it out while performing the annual oil change. Here are a few pictures in case anybody was wondering what failed. Here's one of the new rear lateral links. The part number is...

Basic sales tax on trade in question

Wow. I never realized that you would have to pay capital gains tax on a car if you sold it for more than the purchase price. That's B.S. considering I wouldn't be able to deduct the loss/depreciation on every other car I've owned.

    Happy Birthday Waldo !!

Thanks, guys!! I appreciate the birthday sentiment. Sorry I couldn't make the rally this year. Career #2 has been keeping me busy these days. I will do my best to make it next year.

Battery finally went - what to replace with?

Although the Odyssey 75/86-PC1230DT has the second set of terminals on the front, they are far enough from the frame that I don't feel there will be an issue. As a precaution, I left the plastic inserts in the front terminals and wrapped some high speed bonding material (aka tape) around the...

Battery finally went - what to replace with?

So, it looks like I have another dead Optima. Is there a consensus that the Odyssey - 25PC1400T fits in the GT?

    RoadRunners A12/SR-71 Blackbirds

One of the guys I work with flew the SR-71. Just this afternoon he was telling me about some of the missions he flew around Cuba and the Soviet Union. Pretty cool stuff.

    DBK Got Me a Mustang!

How ironic. When I bought my first Mustang Cobra, my wife and I were renting a lousy house. I prefer the all black interior, but the saddle is growing on me. It should at least be cooler in the summer. The SN95 interior is definitely much more simple when compared to the '15 Mustangs...

I've got the driver's phone number. I can tell him he forgot one and needs to head back to Allen Park.

    DBK Got Me a Mustang!

I have a bit of a soft spot for the SN95 Cobras. This is the third one I've owned. I bought my first in January of '96. I only sold it to make room for my GT. Back in the day, the 305 HP 4-cam 4.6L V8 was a beast. These days that's barely enough to keep up with a V-6 or Eco-boost Mustang.

    DBK Got Me a Mustang!

Well sort of... First off, I wanted to publically thank our illustrious forum founder, DBK, for helping me with another Ford acquisition. Although the sellers were great people to work with, the long-distance car buying process tends to be much less stressful when a trusted friend is handing...

    Bad Rear Lateral Links

As I was finishing up some routine maintenance on my GT, I happened to notice that the rubber boots on both of my rear lateral links were badly torn. Right Side: Left Side: A quick on-line search shows that they are running about $215 for one link. Before I order a pair, does anybody...

    Shocks Bad?

Pete, Andy, Thanks. I'll take a "seeping" shock with a few more miles in it versus a "leaking" shock that needs to be replaced right now. I'll keep an eye on them while I'm saving my pennies for a set of shocks from Scott Ahlman. Ron, It isn't so much retirements as it is a new job. But...

    Shocks Bad?

Darn it. I was afraid of that. As much as I would love to install Ohlins or Penskes at all four corners, that isn't in the toy budget right now. I appreciate the quick reply. Best Regards,
