Updates on your 2005-2006 Ford GT, What have you done lately?

Fifteen years ago 3/14/2006 Delivery Day. 3:20P.M. The first time I sat in a Ford GT. And it was mine.

    Curious Shifting Issue

I had a simular issue "way back when". Ended up that the shifter cable jacketing had melted, causing the shifting problems. Keep in mind the shifter cables run through the valley of the engine. It gets way hot down in there. We went through all the steps mentioned. Finally a call was made to...

Removing wheel covers on standard wheels

I'll continue to use the soft coated handles of my channel lock wrench. Has worked well for 15 years.

One way to be prepared for four days straight of no power.

Read today that Ford has asked their dealers in Tx to loan out new trucks with generators to help the situation.

OEM part number for FGT snow chains?

Way too many red cars...actually I've driven in the snow more than once. By coincidence rather than planned. GT with standard Goodyears does pretty good in the snow. 60% of the weight is over the rear tires. Careful use of the right foot required. Glad I'm in Palm Springs right now. We have not...

What would prevent you from putting your # 98 in the garage?

    Special for sure. Congrats!

OEM part number for FGT snow chains?

Roush in England mounted chains to a GT to get permission to sell GT's in either Austria or Switzerland. David knows which ones work.

How much gas/miles left in tank when light comes on....?

approximately 2.5 gallons, about 30 miles, if one is cautious with the right foot. I've found the gauge to be pretty darn accurate.

3.90 ring and pinion (available again)

It was not a matter of cost, it was the drivability improvement that I wanted. And with 140k I'm just on my second clutch. 2112 - re-gearing was not an option way back then. Not sure if it is now either. But I'm sure that would be pricey too. PeteK - which motor home is yours down by the...

3.90 ring and pinion (available again)

The 3.9 conversion, by Stillen, was the best change I have made on my GT. Makes driving around town so much easier. As was said by Centerpunch - the loss of 0-60 in 3.2 seconds - not missed by me. I have about 120,000 miles going for me with the Stillen set up. The 3.9 diff. makes gears 1-4...

    Pricing in next 5 years?

as Joey said many of us are 15 years older than the day we bought our GT's. Personally not aware of anyone buying a GT as an investment grade purchase. There are some that did, but not too many. I suggest you buy now, don't worry about future values, and drive it far and often. One more...

    Love it? Drive it!

He's about 15 years too late for that treatment.

    Matech GT3

The Bronco looks like a popemobile compared to the sleekness of the GT's.
