Kips carbon fiber rear window surround

Rear window vents We can get a set done within about two weeks. We have three sets in process. All 6 parts that make up the assembly are fabbed and the grills are powder coated. We just need another round of clear and then assembly. Let me know and I'll reserve a set. Thanks!

Who wants a Kip Ewing carbon fiber High Flow Air Filter Box?

I am dying laughing... Don't get your hopes up, brother..... I am a little busy, right now. A beer deposit for 2010 would be accepted, however....

Who wants a Kip Ewing carbon fiber High Flow Air Filter Box?

Don't know... Untill you figure out what the limiting factor is, it is tough to say. I've learned to make my mind up slowly and be prepared to be surprised. The whole thing needs to be studied as a system; from the clamshell through to the throttle body.

    NHRA US Nationals

Nhra Oh man... Do I wish I could go! Way too much to do at the shop. I did get hip to a movie I will have to track down this weekend, "7 second love affair". If you dig drag racing, Google it, buy it, watch it. You will be a better man for it. I saw my first NHRA race when I was 5 years...

    Major GTX1 Surgery...

More progress Greetings all OK, more progress. This past week we completed the surfacing of the roof pattern. Time to make the production tool! The first step in this process is to form what we call 'run-off'. This is essentially an extension of the part surface. This helps to give the mold...

Shadowman and Kip's "VERY" cool Double Din

Double DINS One important thing to consider about Pioneer Z series is the voice control. You just talk to the system and it does what you want it to do. It does have it's limitations. I don't think it will respond to "Give me a Heffner twin-turbo now please..." The Bluetooth phone directory...

Who wants a Kip Ewing carbon fiber High Flow Air Filter Box?

Air Box Yep, that's the solution. You've got to de-couple the relative motion between the engine and the airbox. There are a lot of high-temp silicone rubber couplings out there that can be adapted. They'll support the relative motion and not collapse under vacuum.

    Major GTX1 Surgery...

Gurney Bubble We could definately do a roof with a Gurney bubble. Anything is possible. After seeing the car with this roofline, I am really keen on doing a coupe with a GTX1 clamshell and this roofline. If someone wanted to go with conventional doors (to make parking lots and garages...

Silver / Red Right now, we have most of the interior out of the car. We'll get a bunch of photos when we are finished. It really looks cool. Steve Helmstock stitched this interior. Perhaps he could post some. Cheers Kip

    Major GTX1 Surgery...

Now for the window, and some other cool stuff. Every time one of my design or fabricator buddies comes over to the shop the question about the GTX1 is "What are you going to do for a rear window?". The concept car was supposed to have just a flat plane of glass, but it never got fabricated...

    Thoroughly Unremarkable.

Clamshell vents Wow! There are a lot of ways to do this one wrong, and few ways to do it right. You guys definately got it right. Bravo!

Double DIN radio brackets now available from Kip Ewing

Installed photos We don't have any photos of it installed in a vehicle. We developed everything on an instrument panel that was out of a car. Shadowman is putting one in a car this week, so I am sure we can count on a lot of blue tape and hand modeling!

Double DIN radio brackets now available from Kip Ewing

Level of difficulty In my opinion, the most difficult part of the task relates to removing and reinstalling the lower IP. The lower edge is easy, as you can see the push pins under the IP. The ones around the ac vents can be tricky to push back in. You just need to be slow and patient. A long...

Double DIN radio brackets now available from Kip Ewing

Greetings All After what can only be described as an epic development process, we are finally ready to take orders for the Double DIN radio brackets. This has been a very involved packaging and tooling task. No changes to the lower IP are required with this installation. It is a direct swap...
