    2020 Le Mans Classic.

We urge all GT owners to go if you possibly can! We went to the Ford GT Days in 2016 and it was spectacular. Saint Ho arranged everything perfectly and it was incredible. You cannot imagine how many classic and antique cars are there, you can't see it all in two days. Even got to take two laps...

    Speedhut issue

My Speedhut temp gauge has always been a little funny on start up. It starts at zero, then after a couple of minutes goes up to about 200, stays there for a few seconds, then drops back down to almost zero. After that it behaves normally, so I've never messed with it.

New Source for Clamshell & Bonnet Gas Struts

Absolutely in for the fronts. I tried to order them a few weeks ago and could not. Ford has no stock.

Just looking through BJ results for Vegas and came across this....seems like a good deal for a heritage

Why would prices go up when people realize how expensive parts are? I think that would depress prices, not raise them. Did you mean inexpensive (not quite correct ...)?

Just looking through BJ results for Vegas and came across this....seems like a good deal for a heritage

I think the market in general is down. It's not a good time to sell. Look at the actual sale prices on Bring a Trailer ....

    A unique starting problem?

Hi guys! This is the concluding message about the breakage of the starter lug of the positive battery cable on my car, 05 1638. It is fixed, but it was not easy. To recap a bit: no replacement cable was available anywhere at the time of the failure, which occurred because there was not enough...

Excited - 2006 Ford GT joins the family...

Congratulations! You will love it. I strongly suggest you have the dealer change all the belts (especially the oil pump belt!) before you pick up the car. If they are originals with such low mileage and old age, they are no good.

    Clamshell Spring Stops/Openers

You can buy the cheapest ones you can find and then it's easy to remove the button from the top and wind it into the original springs.

    A unique starting problem?

Thought I would bring this thread up to date. The starter cable fix is in progress. First, to fix the lug (still not repaired) we removed the old, crimped cable end. The lug is plated copper, and as far as I could find out after much searching, the equivalent is not available. The old one must...

Thank you. This crimper would be very useful if I go that route.

    A unique starting problem?

Thanks for all the suggestions! However, none of the options seem quite satisfactory to me. The original lug has both wires crimped and soldered. Keep in mind that whatever repair is done has to be done with the cable hanging down under the car while it's on my lift. Not possible to put it on...

    A unique starting problem?

Thanks! I looked at the lugs from your links. I have been unable to find a "Y" lug similar to the original Ford one. Trying to calculate the current carrying capacity of the single wire fed by both wires is beyond my pay grade. I have some work experience crimping 1/16-1/2" stranded wire lugs...

    A unique starting problem?

It's my plan (after repairs) to cut at least the cable tie closest to the starter to give the wire some ability to move. I don't know how much, but I suspect I'll retie it, but with some slack. As it is now, there is no give anywhere and those ties are really tight. In addition, I suggest you...

    A unique starting problem?

After more investigation, I found that this is not a good option. The battery/starter cable is actually two cables run in the same sheath (you can see the ends on the broken fitting) and to splice them together to a single cable would require a "Y" fitting and a larger cable gauge to handle the...

    A unique starting problem?

If I understand correctly, you are talking about the plastic clip and the single small gauge wire, not the heavy wire (4 ga?) with the stud fitting at the end. My fitting is broken at the angle. and the only factory replacement would be a new wiring harness. Buying a new starter/solenoid would...
