    Hagerty GT video

One of the few really great video stories about the 05/06 GT!

    Tires!!

If nobody steps up to produce those, and/or if Bridgestone doesn't continue them, seems like the only option will be new wheels that fit a more common tire. Either that or our GTs will be unusable. ARRRGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

GT Price Curve Now Vs Two Years Ago

This is a very interesting site. But look at the last year or so and you will see that the moving average is entirely below all the sales! I don't see how that could be. It would be better to do a regression to fit the line to the sale prices. If that was done, you can see that there is a strong...

    LE MANS CLASSIC

My wife and I participated in the last one of these celebrations organized by Francis, we would do it again but unfortunately can't this year. I can assure everyone that it is a fantastic opportunity, and if you are able to attend you absolutely should do so. The Classic LeMans is an amazing...

    Insurance Valuation vs miles driven

A GT with 29,000 miles sold on BaT not too long ago. It brought $330K. If you search BaT for FORD GT sales you will find many, although most are low mileage cars. Still, it's a very useful site to find actual sales prices.

Carbon fiber 05-06 Ford GT belly pans

I have Ahlman shocks and I really think their adjustability is a key factor in having them. I can easily adjust to suit the driving I'm going to do - softer for distance travel, harder for performance. Put the stock ones on the shelf ....

    2005-2006 Ford GT tachometer

That's interesting. When I bought my panel and gauges, the panel was anodized black and just slightly smaller than the stock one, so it was much easier (and less finicky) to install. No modifications were needed. Sounds as though things have changed.

    2005-2006 Ford GT tachometer

I changed my entire panel to Speedhuts and have had no problems. In any case, they are warranted and inexpensive to buy individually. I particularly like them because their faces can be formatted to suit your own likes and dislikes and you can work with the designer to make them pretty much custom.

Carbon fiber 05-06 Ford GT belly pans

I absolutely do not believe this. There are parts now that are already impossible to get - see power steering hoses for instance.

An FGT Review With Some Things Not to do

Nice video and quite sympathetic! But (to repeat) why 17 year old tires in the rain?! Contrary to what was stated about tires being impossible to get, they could have put Bridgestones on the original wheels.

    Unscratchable clearplex?

I have Clearplex on my windshield, and it has done a fantastic job of protection for years (installed more than 20,000 miles ago) from rocks etc. However, I always thought it would be easily scratched/damaged by the wipers. Clearplex says that "Our windshield protection film stands up to...

    05/06 Power Steering Hose Deterioration

Thanks for the warning. I checked my 05 PS hoses and although dusty, there are no signs of stickiness or other deterioration. I'll surely keep a close watch on them, though. And I'll be watching for post-rally info on buying a replacement.

Mileage vs time for parts replacements

The filters I got from Advance/Carquest (No. 42572) were explicitly labeled "Made in USA" on each filter.

Mileage vs time for parts replacements

After I found out that Ford could not supply the air filters, I looked at the equivalents and finally was able to get a pair from Advance/Carquest using the Wix number 42572. NAPA ( FIL 2572) could also get them in a couple of days. Somehow the fact that Ford can't supply such a simple...

Mileage vs time for parts replacements

Would someone explain why, according to the Ford maintenance schedule, some items are supposed to be replaced after a certain mileage or a specific period of time? For instance, Ford specified air cleaner element replacement after 30,000 miles or 3 years. The mileage requirement is...

    9/11

When the plane hit the Pentagon, I was on the 11th floor of NOAA #2 in Silver Spring, and we could see the Pentagon fire from there. We were all sent home, immediately, and security was vastly beefed up for months. My wife passed the Pentagon on her way to work in Alexandria about 5 minutes...

tach inoperative after the battery went flat

You will want to buy the entire set and panel, because the Speedhut tachometer is round, not D-shaped, Their bezel is close, but not quite the same. A big plus is that the Speedhut panel is slightly smaller and easier to fit! The designer can show you what they can do.

tach inoperative after the battery went flat

One BIG plus to the Speedhuts is that they will let you design your gauge faces as long as your choices are within their capability to produce, and they have a pretty large variety of options from very close to stock to really different. You want to call Speedhut and ask to talk with their designer.

    Radiator Fan Speeds/Temps

I have a transaxle cooler and it works well during the summer when it's hot here in western Oregon. However, I have found that in the winter (when no cooler is needed) it takes noticeably longer to warm up the transaxle and therefore I block most of the cool air scoop on the right side of the car.
