    Frunk Rubbing Against Bumper

What are you calling the "nose screens"? The radiator screen in front or the panels behind the radiator?

    Measuring power steering fluid level

The power steering fluid in my car was recently changed, along with new hoses. Long ago I was told that the fluid level should be checked hot. I assume that’s correct owing to fluid expansion raising the level in the reservoir. That also suggests that if fluid is added, that to correctly measure...

Coolant leak at front of pulley/pump

At about 28,000 miles and some undefined distance before that, my water pump leaked out the weep hole (spattered the belt and clamshell glass with coolant), and at 28,000 miles, if I remember correctly, Ryan P. (CoolTech) replaced it from the bottom of the car and did not disturb anything in the...

    Clamshell spring cap

The spring and cap is a 99-04 Mustang or last gen T-bird part, Ford 6G7Z 6343128-A . You can buy the assembly (much less expensive than a GT part) and unscrew the cap and reinstall it on the existing spring.

Purpose of the square hole in belly pan

Must be a slow day ;), but I was under my GT and noticed (again) the square hole on the right forward side of the more forward of the two removable rear belly pans. With a flashlight it appears as though one can look up and see the bottom of the power steering pump, but I'm not sure. Does anyone...

Any interest in an adapter to mount a speedhut speedo in an OEM dash? Did this one. Works well. Working on a tach adapter too.

Not to be negative, but why bother? I'm not sure about current prices, but when I bought mine, the Speedhut gauge panel and all the gauges cost less than the Ford speedo or tach cost. In addition, the Speedhut panel is slightly smaller than the stock one so is much easier to change.

Why is it difficult to get GT parts?

I hope so, too. However, remember that Ford used some very advanced industrial processes to make parts, like the superplastic aluminum shaping. For a small manufacturer to make aluminum fenders or other body parts and make the carbon fiber liners for them would be very difficult and expensive...

Availability of Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic or substitute?

Hi Pete: One of these days I'll have to make the trip to Kalama! Both the Shadow and the Rapide are running well, I drove the Rapide and sidecar more than 100 miles a couple of weeks ago and it is a workout for the shoulders, I can tell you. Anyway, I switched from the Motorcraft when Ford...

Availability of Rotella T6 5W-40 synthetic or substitute?

It's time for my annual oil change. Years ago, I switched from the Ford oil to Rotella T6 5W-40 when Ford changed the formulation for the Motorcraft oil. However, now I cannot get the Rotella either. None of the auto parts shops here have it in stock or can get it now. I can buy Rotella T6...

    05/06 Power Steering Hose Deterioration

Is either PS hose pressurized, or just carrying fluid at atmospheric pressure? My large hose is slightly sticky and leaves black marks on a white paper towel, but doesn't seem soft or swollen. I assume that the hose is going bad, but won't be able to change it for a few hundred miles. Safe to drive?

I thought the headlights are sealed? If so, how do they get "scratched or dirty on the inside"?

Engine Vents next to Heated rear glass

That's what I thought, but a better definition of terms helps! I wish someone would make the #2 vents next to the window. I realize they are quite a bit more complex than the simple billet ones and would be more difficult to make. Mine are warping and are now sort of wavy.

Engine Vents next to Heated rear glass

I'm getting a bit confused. As far as I know, the vents directly next to the rear window (No. 2, "rear window vents" on the figure included in message #7) are not and never have been available in billet. The top vents, and the side vents next to the top vents, have been, and I have those. If...

I had an accident in my 06 is there a club or patch?

I see you are in BC. There is a Ford dealer in Seattle who works on many GTs and seems to have a good reputation. I believe they are Bowen Scarff Ford, but I haven't dealt with them. However, if I remember correctly, Jeff here on the Forum has them maintain his 150,000 mile GT. If my info is...

I had an accident in my 06 is there a club or patch?

You can try to get parts from your local Ford dealer. Some parts may be unavailable. You will have to provide at least the VIN of your car to prove that you actually own a GT. Depending on how bad your accident was, you may need to have the frame checked for straightness and the wheels checked...

06 GT pops out of 3rdgear under accelerating?

It is! The part number is apparently OTC 308-602 (printed on the tool itself, which is black plastic. Also says "Made in USA"). I got it on ebay a few years ago and have used it once to check shifting. Also written on the bag is "Rare set rotunda Ford GT tools from dealership". An on line search...
