Is the hope for manuals in the future?

Drive one of these and you’ll forget about manuals; best DCT I’ve ever used!

    BoP? Where was it?

Yup, Raj told us at a race in COTA (2017?) that they’d been BOP’d down to around 400hp. Each year the BOP got more politicized and Ford’s fortunes sank lower: 1st in 2016, 2nd in 2017, 3rd in 2018, and 4th then DQ’d in 2019 at Le Mans. I believe all the complaints about the system resulted in...

Oil pump Belt, When to change?

When i changed mine it was indistinguishable from the new bely, so I’d be surprised if there are failures

    1969 12 Hours of Sebring

That was fun! Ah, the good old days when people wore suits and ties to the races. No disrespect to the winner, but my god, the Penske T70 was so beautiful. I remember building a Tamiya model kit of one many years ago

    Will Avon Tires survive?

My Rangerover came with Goodyears. Both rears failed at around 25,000 miles when the radial plies broke and the tyres went out of round by roughly two inches! It made for, err, some vibrations. Changed them all for Pirellis. The only Goodyears I’ve ever bought were those cool retro billboards on...

    High mileage value

There’s no doubt that super low mileage cars command a premium, but these cars are so rock solid that IMO, high mileage is not a big deal. One of our forum members sold his 80k-ish car in late-2019 for sub-$200k which was an absolute steal. Like Ron, my 06 with 52,000 miles is insured for $275k...

    Oil filters?

Parts supplies seem difficult for these cars. I waited ages for a windshield and even a simple thing like a reversing light took over two weeks to arrive. Is this a consequence of Ford sub-contracting the vehicle to Multimatic?

    1093-MILE 2006 GT FOR SALE

Just the three! My blue 06 that currently has 52,000 miles on it, and in which I’ll be buried; my blue 19 that I drove for 6,400 miles before passing on to the next caretaker, and; this one.

    1093-MILE 2006 GT FOR SALE

So, I have a 2006 Black and silver GT with 1093 miles for sale. The car is essentially new, still has plastic on the inside, Goodyear tyres, no hot buttons etc. It is bone stock and came out of a private collection. As some of you know, I got this car as part trade when I sold my new GT. I don't...

    Cracked Windshield

There’s a car in Houston where the windshield cracked during clearplex installation. My windshield cracked during the passenger airbag cover recall work. This gorilla glass isn’t!

    2020 CFTP Goodness

Yup, I always ran my oldMcLaren in auto mode at the track, but when Itried it on the NGT it sucked, was shifting in all the wrong places. So, I use manual now, which is fun except that the engine revs so freely that you hit the limiter quite often if you are not totally focused on the shift...

    2020 CFTP Goodness

Been driving. mine for about three weeks now. I love it - the trans is amazingly good, better IMO than the new GT. Brakes are fabulous even though they’re only steel. And best of all, you can drive it without the constant fear that some moron will run into or you stuff it into a wall and total a...

Should or Must do's for tracking GT.... + prep

If you don’t already have it, you need a transaxle cooler or, as others have already noted, you’ll lose the clutch pedal after a couple of sessions. The cooler solves this problem. And take lessons on spin control, these cars turn you from hero to zero in a heartbeat!

    NEW BOOK BY STEVE NESTA

Many of you know Steve - he was the photographer who documented the GT privateer racing programmes back in 2010-11, covering all the way up to the Matech Le Mans run led by the now sadly demised Martin Bartek. Well, Back in the day he put together an incredible set of volumes that covered every...
