Bring a Trailer wallops the big auction houses!

Chatted with David Gooding in a bar at last year’s Amelia Island event. He is steadily moving towards the on-line auction model, easier, more profit. I tried to use BAT twice, once for my McLaren and once for the new GT. Both times they were easy to deal with but so incredibly slow that I sold...

Small hydraulic fluid leak from aero flap mechanism

Over 6700 miles I had leaks in front aero and rear aero. The rear is the scary one as the fluid can drip onto the exhaust system, which is a fire risk.

    Ford GT Rally XIII pics

The overhead shot is interesting: everyone predicted that liquid blue would be the most common colour for the NFGT, but it looks like white is the new red!

    Ford Supervan!

I do remember this, and in fact I think I saw it at Santa Pod drag strip back when I was into quarter mile stuff. The vans got massive publicity and were in all the magazines and on the BBC. Hmm, maybe I should build one?

    Hot results at BJ Auction

My experience with Bonhams was that fees are highly negotiable. I ended up paying 5% on my Merlin-Rolls and had a very enjoyable experience (my first ever auction deal), they were great. I actually put my 19 Lightweight on BAT but they dicked me around with months of not posting it and I ended...

After Hurricane Ida, need another minty, white 4-option car

Bummer Kenneth! At least as a consolation you’ll be receiving another white car in the near future. Meanwhile, enjoy the thrill of the chase to find a replacement - your next car is out there!

    What would you buy?

Yup it’s CFTP. It’s stock apart from aroll bar and harnesses. It is an absolute blast to drive and in fact has become my daily. We jusr drove it from Houston to Boulder for the Shelby bash, comfy, and am getting 18mpg (but don’t put it into manual mode or that figure will be a single digit) I...

    What would you buy?

Been there, done that. I bought a new GT500 plus a 1966 E type coupe, plus a 2003 911 turbo. The rest is going on a major home remodel to keep mywife happy! I realized that I’m just not cut out for driving million dollar cars, can have more fun with cheaper stuff.

Preparation for Rally 13 Track Event, Thread 1

One year at Big Bend’s Open Road Race I was in my 06 and Donny Mac was in his. I asked him how he was going to time his run (you have a target time to aim for) and he said “i’m just going to follow you!” And that’s exactly what he did!

    Fuel Filter disconnect

Even with the aluminium tools it can still be an entire afternoon of m****f****ing and skinned knuckles. Thank God it only needs doing infrequently, easily the worst part of the ‘big’ service.

Trading 05 GT for new Porsche 911 GT3RS Good idea ?

I’m gonna say it (after recently buying my first-ever Porsche, a 996 911 Turbo); Porsches are boring. I feel better now, thanks.

    05/06 GT or 2017-21 GT

Ski boot bags fit perfectly behind the seats. Per Mark mcGs recommendation don’t use a bag in the frunk, just pack your clothes directly in- it’s amazing how much stuff you can fit
